SEATTLE, Dec. 22 - After a bitter and protracted recount fight in the Washington governor's race, elections officials announced Wednesday that the Democratic candidate, Christine O. Gregoire, was leading her Republican opponent by 10 votes - a minuscule margin but a stunning reversal of the Nov. 2 election results.
The preliminary results elated Democratic Party officials and came only hours after the party scored another victory, when the State Supreme Court agreed with the Democrats' contention that more than 700 newly discovered and erroneously disqualified ballots in heavily Democratic King County should now be considered.
Since those ballots came from a county where Ms. Gregoire, 57, already had a solid lead, the ruling could allow her to increase her extraordinarily tiny edge in a race that is the closest in state history and one of the closest in the nation's history.

Yup, see here:

Also, Gregoire, as Attorney General, has cost Wa. state millions in failing time afetr time, to provide full dislosure of documents.

From John Fund's column:
"King County, after all, has a long history of incompetence in handling its elections and has now discovered "new" uncounted ballots nine times since Nov. 2--and there's still time for another surprise or two. "
I highly suggest everyone read Mr. Fund's summary to truly understand the timeline/events.
Thanks.
Only as valuable as the LSM will allow it.
exactly right.
Merry Christmas FRiend.
CyberCowboy777 maintains the WA state ping list - he may have done this already (I'm completely bushed from Christmas shopping, and honestly too tired to check) - but I'll make that request of him. Thanks, FBD.
I'm so tired I forgot to do it. LOL
Please ping, CC777, if you haven't already.
Something like 300,000+ more voters voted for Kerry than voted for Gregoire. That's saying something about how well liked Gregoire is in this state. She's even less liked now that she has done this outright theft. I can't tell you how many non-political family, friends and acquaintences have come up to me and expressed their disgust with what the Dems are doing.
Oh, yeah. I saw your post to MurryTroll there. NOT surprising that a DemoKraut would want to change the rules in the middle of the game. Seems ole algore tried to do that in Florida 4 years ago. Now Gregoire is doing the same.Would I be too bold to wonder if she is changing the rules and the DemoKraut in power letting this happen ??? .....
Something tells me this ain't over. That is if the "Bully" GOP press this to conform to the law of the land (that being the laws that the Washington State legislature has passed and the Washington State Governor has signed into law - for any DUmmie lurkers that MurryTroll might have sent here that are reading this post).

GOVERNOR-ELECT
DINO ROSSI
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Mary Lane
Dec. 7, 2004
In 1996, Gregoire said not to change recount rules
That was then, this is now
Bellevue, WA - A 1996 document emerged today that reveals Christine
Gregoire's hypocrisy on the issue of changing the state's recount rules
midway through the recount process.
Papers filed in the state Supreme Court this morning by the Secretary of
State's office include a November 1996 memo from then-Secretary of State
Ralph Munro regarding a manual recount in a state legislative race. The
memo says that Attorney General Christine Gregoire's office told the
Secretary of State that previously rejected ballots could not be brought
back into the recount process.
Here is what the memo says:
"Challenge of Ballots Not Allowed. We are advised by the Attorney
General that state law makes no provision for the challenge of ballots
or voters (as provided in RCW 29.10.125) during the recount. The
recount procedure provided for by statute is a mechanical function of
re-tallying the ballots cast and accepted as valid by the precinct
election officers or the canvassing board during the canvass of the
election. The decision of the canvassing board with respect to the
inclusion or exclusion of a particular ballot during the canvass is not
open to question during the recount."
Governor-elect Dino Rossi's spokeswoman Mary Lane said Gregoire will
have a hard time explaining why she wants to change the rules now, when
as Attorney General she supported them.
"With each passing day, Christine Gregoire's hypocrisy is being revealed
more and more," said Lane. "In 12 years as Attorney General, she signed
off on the recount rules she now wants to change. This 1996 memo makes
it even more clear that the only reason she wants to change the rules
now is because she's lost twice and she isn't willing to accept the
voters' decision."
Thanks for that info/post/link, FBD!
If I'm understanding this correctly (see my post just above and FBD's post I'm replying to), the DemoKrauts are trying to pull an algore (Florida 2000 change the rules in the middle of the game).Do you have any thoughts as to whether this might go further up the legal challenge process or will Rossi lay down and take it like a girlie-man?
Anybody ????

Gregoire can't set the rules, now or then.
She only *advised", as A.G, as to what is *LEGAL*
Eh, Murry Mom?
In 1996 Gregoire advised the Secretary of the State of Washington that they couldn't bring rejected ballots back into the recount process.
Now however, she has changed her mind, seeing as it's her election, and the Rats have found a way to jigger elections:
Take the most liberal county, as they did in Floriduh, then shake the rejected ballots like a gumball machine, until they find enough votes to drop in their favor.
This was all started by a city coucilman who campaigned and voted for Gregoire.
Right now, they've "found" that Christine has 130 more votes than Rossi. It's a done deal- this is the way elections will be handled from here on out.
Thank you AlGore for destroying the election process.
