DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!
I happen to agree with you.
There are also security guards being hired from other countries armed forces, which doesn't instill a lot of confidence.
Not True, All of Iraq is Hostile Fire Pay area, Kuwait as well. Applies to everyone.
A US air strike killed six people and wounded 10 in the western Iraqi town of Hit overnight, the head of the local hospital said on Tuesday.
The strike left six dead and 10 others wounded, Dr Nazzar al-Kubaisi of Hit general hospital said.
"The toll is higher than this but we received only this number."
The US military later confirmed it had carried out an air strike, but had no information on casualties in the raid 150 kilometres (115 miles) northwest of Baghdad in the restive Al-Anbar province.
"We can confirm at approximately 2 am on December 21, a USAF (United States Air Force) aircraft in support of troops in contact, engaged an enemy fighting position with precision fighting in Hit," said a military spokesman.
Al-Anbar, which is home to the war-torn cities of Fallujah and Ramadi, has been virtually paralysed by a running conflict between US forces and insurgents.
Pentagon Says 22 Killed, 50 Hurt in Mosul Attack
Tue Dec 21, 2004 09:45 AM ETWASHINGTON (Reuters) - At least 22 people were killed and 50 others wounded in a rocket and mortar attack against a U.S. military base in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, a defense official at the Pentagon said on Tuesday.
The official, who asked not to be identified, said it was not immediately known how many U.S. troops were among the fatalities in the midday attack on Forward Operating Base Marez.
G-d Bless our fallen troops and those fighting.
This is an early Christmas present from the terrorists to their propaganda machine (MSM) and all the communists and America haters worldwide.
Attack on Mess Hall in Iraq at least 22 dead per Fox News Alert. 3 seperate rocket attacks.
I think it was an inside job too. Iraqis or their families should they blow themselves up, get paid for killing Americans. Remember how Atta and company kept a low profile and were friendly while they were in Florida learning to fly planes into buildings.
It's the same over there. It makes me shudder and why can't we stop mixing Iraqis with our forces on our bases for now? Must we rely upon them or are they allowed near our troops as a politically correct gesture??? Is that possible?
Will do Squantos.
I agree. This is horrible.
yep we have our Fox feed up right now....
I am afraid the death toll will go up some more....
For some reason, the Islamic brigades seem to time their attacks to coincide with momentous religious/celebratory occasions.
Task Force Olympia...the Stryker Brigade is there too.
Mosul is the new Fallujah.
Prayers lifted for the families and friends. This is an especially rotten season to suffer the loss of a loved one.
Same happend to us in Thailand once.......a local vendor who ran a gedunk sold hot foil packs of Kao Pai aka Cow Pot for 25 cents. He got mad one day at a GI and decided to give all GI's the GI's. Problem was a few ROK marines also got sick and they took Pooh Chi for a one way ride across the Mekong...........
Killing the cook was an approved option back then.....
Stay safe !
I wish at some point we would stop being so f'ing PC about this war and go all out, I am sick and tired of this kind of crap.
WASHINGTON -- A Pentagon official said that at least 22 people were killed and 50 wounded in an attack Tuesday at a U.S. and Iraqi base near Mosul.
The official said assailants using rockets and mortars attacked a U.S. and Iraqi forward operating base in the northern Iraqi city.
The official said it's believed that the dining hall at the base was hit.
Earlier, the U.S. military said there had been "multiple casualties" from the mortar attack.
The U.S. Army's Task Force Olympia is based in Mosul, which is predominantly Sunni Muslim.
The military said the cause of the explosion is under investigation.
White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the attack shows that "the enemies of freedom will continue to seek to derail the transition" to a free and democratic Iraq.
As he briefed reporters Tuesday morning, McClellan was uncertain whether President George W. Bush had been filled in on the circumstances of the attack. It came during lunchtime at the base, when presumably the potential for casualties would be great.
McClellan said the president is determined to stay the course in Iraq and -- as Bush said during his news conference Monday -- he "fully expects" terrorists to step up their attacks in the run up to next month's elections.
Doctor: U.S. Military Bombed Homes West Of Baghdad
A doctor said four Iraqis have been killed and seven injured in a U.S. airstrike west of Baghdad. He said two houses were damaged.
The military said it shot a missile at an "enemy position" early Tuesday but had no information on casualties.
North of the Iraqi capital, five American troops and an Iraqi civilian were hurt in a car bomb explosion. The military said they are in stable condition. A suspected insurgent was detained at the scene of that attack.
And the military said Marines southeast of Baghdad seized several caches of weapons, including rocket launchers, mortar shells and rocket-propelled grenade rounds.
"I think it's high time to let the Kurds do a little "cleaning" for us in some of these areas."
Damn right. Use these guys. They want to fight and they have a huge beef.
The PC nuts are literally killing us.
It was the same in Nam, but they didn't call it PC. They just called it stupid.
