All Hillary has to do is declare that she will personally round up every illegal in this country and she'll have the support from all the Buchananites and the other nuts who think immigration is the only issue that matters in this world. IMO 39% is the Beast's rock bottom number, her absolute, unshakable core and she is just smarmy enough to collect another 15%, especially if the rep candidate is weak. This is mostly name-recognition.

But numbers this strong against a generic GOP candidate still surprise me a bit. As soon as you name any particular Republican, the generic opponent becomes inevitably weaker vs. Hildebeast. OTOH, the level of hate for the Clintons is very strong in the Red states and Hildy can't win without at least a few of them (hence her newfound concern for illegal immigration).

Still, it's way too early for this to mean anything.
