Former "This Week" host and National Public Radio veteran Cokie Roberts blamed conspiracy filmmaker Michael Moore on Sunday for causing Sen. John Kerry to lose the presidential election.
"I think Michael Moore actually had a very major impact - a negative impact - on the Democratic Party," Roberts told NBC's "Chris Matthews Show."
"I think he exemplified all of the things that people hate about Democrats. And the fact that he was - it was a hate-America-first campaign and that hurts the Democrats every time."
Adding insult to injury, Roberts also contended that Moore's "physical appearance did not help."

The election results must really bother Cokie.
Her father was a Democrat Congreesman.
For that matter, her mother was a Democrat Congresswoman.
Reads like an appropriate background for someone who's a national news reporter.

More self-delusion from the Leftist MSM. They keep looking for scapegoats rather than walking up to the fact that Kerry and the DNC were absolutely on message and the American people saw the message clearly AND REJECTED IT.
You are 100% right on! - The public saw Kerry for who he was (and the DNC) and they also knew who GWB was (for the past 4 years) and they decided to go with leadership and the American spirit first!
Just as the GWB put forth the right message in 2002 (and that is the reason the GOP won back the Senate....it had nothing to do with the GOP Senator's themselves....they are mostly fools).
GWB had been an amazing leader and the American public are following -

Every Democrat will blame the loss on their pet peeve BUT!!!!.We won for two reasons we have the best President this country has seen since Reagan. Plus Most of us smart voters wanted a president that is pro-American not one that is anti-american and pro-communist.

She could be the lead in "Night of the Living Democrats". She looks like a dead woman, and I don't mean a fresh one either. I did a Google search in hopes of seeing what she looked like (I don't watch tv) and saw her picture on her NPR bio (which I would think would be her at her best look)... Yikes!

Here is another news flash for Cokie---the current assault on Christians and the whole Christmas downgrading by the liberal left is also making it soooo much easier to keep voting conservative Republican. The RATS have let control of their party go to the loony, anti Christian left and Moore is only one of the many, many reasons that they lost to President George Bush.

Its not like it was Kerry's fault he lost the election. Kerry could have told Moore to pound sand instead of sitting him next to Carter at the DNC convention.Carter and Moore are both negatives for the Democrats.

Agree. But having Carter at the DNC convention alone wouldn't of had quite the impact.

"Michael Moore was in Cambodia too?"Lol, and apparently Cokie hadn't seen Michael Moore's "in-the-manner-of-Genghis Khan" testimony before that Senate Committeee after he returned from Nam...
Btw, I was just at a Christmas party where friends of ours' politically active teenage son blamed Joe Lieberman for impugning Howard Dean who "should have" been the Dem's Presidential nominee.
Fascinating watching and listening to the twisted logic of "why" Kerry lost, ain't it?
