Former "This Week" host and National Public Radio veteran Cokie Roberts blamed conspiracy filmmaker Michael Moore on Sunday for causing Sen. John Kerry to lose the presidential election.
"I think Michael Moore actually had a very major impact - a negative impact - on the Democratic Party," Roberts told NBC's "Chris Matthews Show."
"I think he exemplified all of the things that people hate about Democrats. And the fact that he was - it was a hate-America-first campaign and that hurts the Democrats every time."
Adding insult to injury, Roberts also contended that Moore's "physical appearance did not help."

If that were true we should build a statue of Moore. ---

More finger pointing.
How many excuses can they come up with?
Hmmmmmmm......
Lets see so far:
Osama Bin Laden's pre-election tape
Michael Moore
Whoopie Goldberg
Terry Mc-Awful
Karl Rove
Hey Dims - instead of excuses, why not address the REAL REASON?
How about the man and the message?
Sorry - I forgot -you folks can NEVER accept reality at face value.
Ho hum.
Rock on.

the current assault on Christians and the whole Christmas downgrading by the liberal left is also making it soooo much easier to keep voting conservative Republican. ---

"Cokie suprises me on rare occasion.
And Michael Moore is a moronic, conspiratorial slob."
Cokie Roberts is just applying "duplicitonics."
Not surprising at all because her statement comes too long AFTER THE FACT. It's the nature of hypocrites to separate themselves from other hypocrites who are spotlighted for criticism and blame. By making her comments against Moore, she seeks to cut herself out of the herd of Democrat swine. Cokie has no integrity and she cannot convince me that she has any by denouncing Moore NOW.

No, they would not have.
Any of the so called moderate dems are a pretty pathetic bunch with lots of history, but they might have reversed the EV count, at best.
We won, Kerry did not just lose.
We won by getting out our right of center voting base, that does not all turn out all of the time, and is larger than the dems and the media imagined.
Putting a Gephart or Lieberman would not have changed that. In fact you have to consider this:
Without a very high profile, slanderous, muck raking appeal to the activists and far out leftists, then:
Bush might have won by that 350EV margin

Exactly! And yet these people (and their media lapdogs) consider themselves smart beyond belief and the GOP folks dumb beyond belief, witness Kerry's comment "I can't believe I'm losing to this idiot" as reported in
Newsweek AFTER the election. Kerry ran an incredibly stupid, rudderless campaign, as did Gore. Yeah, smart my ass!
As to their Mary Cheney comments, what ticked me off about it was that it was part of their strategy. Little Johnny brought it up in his debate; big Johnny brought it up; Tahrayzah brought it up. It was quite unseemly and all the worse because these same people kept of accusing Bush of being a "divider, not a uniter." I actually hope Waffle Boy runs again in '08 and that he and Old Piano Legs and Howie and Gore and Little Johnny tear each other apart.

Michael Moore becoming a mainstream spokesman for Democratic issues is a dream come trueYou're right.
I could see a Ft. Marcy Park moment for him, or a Carlos Ghigliotti type scene.
The Stalinist Cookie Maker is not going to want M.M. around.

I agree. A truly moderate Southerner - a Sam Nunn or Nunn type - would probably have won.

Fruit Basket?!!
Really, if Moore was fruit eater he would not be as fat as he is now. Send him some McDonald's gift certificates. He and Clinton can do lunch together.

I actually had two coworkers come to me and tell me that Bush was going to lose after they saw Farenheight 911. My response to them was that movie was not totally accurate and proceeded to give them definite sources where he was wrong. I further predicted a Bush win. I can't believe how easily people fell for that loser and made him totally rich.
To: MeekOneGOP
He said that they lost because Democrats didn't get their message out. This kind of stupidity always makes me think of this from Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid:
"You just keep thinkin,' Butch, that's what you're good at."
