This was the sentiment of Omar M. Ahmad, the Chairman of the Board of the Council on American-Islamic Relations or CAIR, as told at an Islamic conference held in Freemont, California, in July of 1998. You didn’t have to be there to understand the sinister tone that rings through his words.
Was Ahmad serious? Did he actually believe that America was going to be overthrown by a religious Islamic force? Well, if he did, Ahmad had a previous model with which to work.

Denotation for the community of Muslims, that is, the totality of all Muslims.
The term comes from a word that simply means 'people'. But in the Holy Koran, the word is used in several senses, but it always indicates a group of people that are a part of a divine plan and salvation. There is even an example of the word being used for an individual, Abraham (16,120).
Umma used for a group is often to be understood as confined by ethnicity or linguistics. But as we see it in the Holy Koran, this situation was not original:

20 Once the community of men was one; then they disagreed; if it was not for the word that had come from the Lord, their disagreements would have been settled
It appears that in the early days of Islam, umma was used for the population of Mecca, but with the development of Islam, the umma of Muhammad changed to become believers, and therefore excluded Meccans that had not converted.
The umma term has without being a central theological concept, been crucial to the Muslim understanding of unity.

He's right. You could place the majority of Iranians, and majority on Iraqi Shia including their leader.

When I figured out that ignorant people were impacting my life badly, and getting my friends and fellow Americans killed through their ignorance.
I learned enough Arabic, listened to enough hate speaches, read enough hate propaganda, nearly got blown up enough times to understand these people.
I made many friends among the muslims, and they were good people. But, to a man, they were 'bad' muslims.
The 'good' people I met there were 'bad' muslims. And I had numbers of discussions with them about this. And I personally figured it out.
Numbers of the closest told me, in honest conversations, "Don't trust a Muslim."
