What's $4B when we are already spending $300B to "liberate" their asses? IMO, we should erect machines to suck every pint of oil from under their country to pay ourselves back. Afterward, we can teach them how to behave like civilized beings. And if they're good at that, we can teach them how to raise cactus flowers for export.

W should confiscate $444 billion in oil from the sand-lizards over there.

No, because there are no "sand-lizards" there who own any oil; the oil belongs to the Iraqi people, not to the U.S.

And confiscating what does not belong to you is known as "communism." Not that I'm surprised to hear Bush supporters advocating communism.

Since neither major party candidate was acceptable, I had intended to write-in Pat Buchanan as my own choice, despite the fact that he wasn't running. (I had also considered writing in William R. Hawkins for prez and Alan Tonelson as veep). But when I got to the polls, they had those new electronic touch screens and there was no obvious way to vote for a write-in candidate. So at the last minute, I finally opted for Peroutka as an acceptable alternative who was on the ballot.

What's $4B when we are already spending $300B to "liberate" their asses?

What's another $4 billion when the Administration has already put us another $1.6 Trillion in Debt?
And now Dubya want to use our SS taxes to prop up the DJIA?
Why should I worry about slitting my wrists when the leeches have already sucked my blood dry?

I think that confiscation is a just response, since someone will have to pay for the loss. If it's an "us or them" choice, who would you choose?

If it's an "us or them" choice, who would you choose?

I don't think Christian ethics espouse an "us or them" mentality. Certainly, it's not what Jesus preached.

So in answer to your question, sometimes I'd choose us, and sometimes them, depending on who I thought was right in the particular circumstances.

Of course, you're free to feel differently. I only hope you don't call yourself a Christian.

"I only hope you don't call yourself a Christian. "

For you sake or HIS? And just what do you do to Commies? Bash them by rebuking them? Where will that get you?

Well, if I had had the choice back in 1966 to put all of my FEDERAL FICA CONFISCATED TAXES in the DOW, I would have over TWO MILLION DOLLARS instead of $149,000. Some liberals have no clear understanding of simple economic or finance. Personally, I do not think that the Federal Government should tell me hoe to go to the bathroom to go tinkle on the toilet. Well, that is exactly what liberals believe that is the Federal Government's right to do so.

If I were Prez.; I'd shut down 90% of the Federal GOVERNMENT.

The only remaining arm would be the UNITED STATES MILITARY.

Further, I'd cut pay to every Congressman and Senator to $ONE DOLLAR per TERM!

Well, you can thank a Democrat for putting this tax on you. Franlin Delano Roosevelt in 1933 (I think). It is a vortex for socialism. If you do not believe in freedom and a market driven society, just vote for those who are socialists or communists. This is not a complicated decision.

BTW, this TAX is still referred to as FICA. "Federal Insurance Contribution Act." To me and my wife, we will never see damn near $300k that has ben confiscated from our family. All in the name of "fairness" for the downtrodden. bunch of leeches that some describe.

I guess Karen and I are leeches too.

To liberals, this is acceptable behavior. Because the "wealthy" worked 70 years to build up a nest egg.

SS just screwed us out of our LABOR. Not to mention the Federal, State, Local taxes, Airport fees, cell phone fees, motel/hotel fees, the list never ends. And people pay no flippin' attention.

Some folks go down the road and are totally clueless.

I manage a large organization, and I see millions of dollars in hidden expenses paid in taxes. Texaco's income tax return was over 1,000 pages. Over 100 accountnats and clerks preparing a tax return to your friend, The Federal Government.

Rewind one hundred years ago. There were no Federal Income Taxes.

Some folks should go to school or the library and read a history lesson.

And send it my way. Over a $100k last year went to the Feds and NC. Tee-rific investment, eh? And we're putting our children through private universities. The Davis family has ZERO drain on the public sectore other than our military (which is the only arm of the government we support). The other 20+ should be put out of their misery. Especially Carter's DOE, which was supposed to be "temporary." Yeah, right. Or Left.

Actually, it is we or they. We pay, or They pay.

Us do not pay. Nor do Them pay.

Unless us speak Sean Hannity on the do-dat train to incredibly horrible grammar 'trane'.

Never forget, her and me went to .... amazingly, the she, he, I pronouns are becoming extinct.

"Actually, it is we or they."

I see the context now. Hope my point was well made.

Amazing. I thought Bush had already discovered all the ways there are to piss away American taxpayers' money.

But no - he went and found a new one. Instead of recouping it with oil, he just pissed it away.

Smooth move, Georgie Boy. Now what? More spending programs?
