There are some in this country who won't be happy until they have eliminated any remote mention or symbol of God or Christianity from public life.
A Pagan one maybe. Even atheists have Christmas trees.
More anti-Christian bigotry. People should just leave Pasco county and come to America.
I am NOT of the ancient Roman religion, there fore I refuse to call next month January, named after Janus. In fact, Christians should demand that they change all names of all the months. To what? hmmm First month, Second month,.... And I don't worship the sun or the moon either. We must change the names of the days of the week from SUNday, MOONday and those other guys like Thor's day, Saturn Day,... Until we come up with something acceptable, it will be Firstday, Seconday, .....
The latest episode of religious oppression in America - thank goodness I'm in Merry Christmassy England.
Happy Non-sectarian Sparkly Season America.
Merry Christmas to any passing Englishmen.
In counties that do this, then Christmas should not be a holiday and all county employees should have to work on Christmas day,all day,......especially these damn lawyers.
As long as the sun is shining, the bingo games continue, the grouper sandwiches are cheap, the condo cocktail hour/gabfest begins at five, the grandchildren from New Joisey are coming to visit, and the malls are open, life on or near the Gulf of Mexico is good.
Most adult residents of any age living in any Florida coastal communities are from someplace else, so most don't know and don't care about county and local governments and what they're up to.
......and county and local governments know this all too well.

This is more than censorship, this is nothing short of terrorism, a literal jihad against Christmas.
"What you allow for one you must provide for all," Johnson said."
These are legalese codewords....the war has begun.
Using these words as a model...everything Western civilization and Eurocentric inspired that we take for granted...all of our cultural heritage is under attack.
Somebody please construct a test case, and take this to the Supreme Court.
They should get their stories straight in Florida.
In another town, they decided that the menorah was NOT a religious symbol, so that was allowed. Then a woman wanted to buy a nativity scene and put it next to the menorah on public display, but that was outlawed.
She was aided in her suit by the Thomas More Law Center, and they just won the case.
She was on O'Reilly the other night, has been treated pretty badly in the town, was even spit upon.
Anyone across the country having trouble with discrimination against Christians should contact this group. This is their mission.
This kind of stuff is just silly. I can see no reason whatsoever that a Christmas tree should not be allowed in a public building.
If these idiots want to try to make the argument that it's a violation of the establishment clause, then we have to ask, how long was this establishment likely to take? After all, Christmas trees and other decorations have been happening for nearly a hundred years, and we still haven't seen an establishment of religion.
So, if it hasn't happened after all that time, why would it happen now, at a time when secularism it taking over the national government by leaps and bounds?
Answer: It's not causing an establishment of religion and that's all the law of the land is concerned with, on its face.
Email Addys at http://www.pascocountyfl.net/index.htm
My email comment to those fine public officials and workers in Pasco County Florida was as follows:
I assume ALL Pasco County employees will be required to work on religious holidays keeping with the "separation of church and state."
I have relatives who live over there..I am in the central part of the state...I will forward this to them.
If the populace stands for it, then they share the blame. Vote the clowns out, recall them, do whatever's necessary! A little civil disobedience is certainly not out of the question. I'd like to see these Nazis trying to arrest hundreds for placing a Christmas tree on public property. I thought Pasco County was red. Now it appears to be pink.
"Not wanting to be the grinches who stole the Christmas spirit, Pasco County officials bowed to intense public pressure Friday by ending a brief ban on Christmas tree displays in libraries and other public places.
"Hundreds of phone calls were logged at county switchboards and national news media pounced on the story.
"Pasco officials continue to ban displays of religious symbols in county buildings."
Well, freepers, after agonizing research, soul-searching and expenditure of tax dollars, the Pasco County Attorney's office came up with the fact that Christmas trees, ornaments, Santa figurines, candy canes, etc. are regarded as secular, not religious, symbols....per United State Supreme Court decisions.
Chalk up another one for the emailers and phoner-inners. I live in this county and did my small bit. You never know when your one lone email or telephone call will help turn a tide.
