Hillary may not be a credible standard bearer, but the Republicans could be extremely vulnerable on this issue. If a genuine moderate, such as Ben Nelson of Nebraska or Evan Bayh of Indiana picks it up, it could be a cakewalk for the Democrats in 2008 or even 2006, assuming they are not suppressed by the "hate America" crown in the ultraleft wing of the party.
Tony Blankley is absolutely correct on this one. It's rather shameful that the GOP will be forced to do the right thing on illegal immigration - against their will when it should be a no-brainer.

Hilary has hit on the one thing that could put her in the White House. She shot her wad on the Health Insurance and struck out, but this one could do it. Let her propose legislation that would immediately cut govt benefits to illegals, mandate exportation of criminal aliens immediately, and a quadrupling of Mexical border patrol agents, and THEN I will believe her.
