being an old firefighter it ain't easy
I used to tell people like you where to go! ;)
(I was a dispatcher for a smalltown PD. A sworn-at rather than a sworn-in employee. Also dispatched the FD and utilities, and out-of-town FD and utilities, too, on third shift.)

I don't mind the pancake mix at all. (The one thing I REALLY missed was bread/pancakes, so the alternative is none.) Lots of butter and sugar free jam and jelly. I don't like maple syrup, so haven't tried it.

I'm off to a quick visit with the daughter and grandkids (and that guy she married). ;)
Daughter switched departments (ER to surgery), so she's working dayshift now. With all of the activities the kids have in the evening (swimming, dance, gynastics, choir, etc.), it's even more difficult than ever to coordinate visits now. (Plus, now I'll have winter weather to contend with! I do NOT do well on slippery surfaces!)
BTW, doesn't sound good for the possible project stuff I took a look-see at last night. I told the editor that my first impression was that it'd be quicker to start over and write everything from scratch than to try to fix what was already there. She said that was her impression, too, but she'd hoped I'd see things differently! LOL ... So, she's going to discuss it with the other publishing types powers that be and they'll decide whether or not they're going to pay to salvage the book or just write it off as a loss. (I need money, but it'd defeat the purpose to do four weeks-worth of work for one week's pay!)

Thanks for the breakfast!!
I just noticed the plate the eggs are on and the poppy flowers I bet this picture is from New Mexico.
Poppies grow wild in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in New Mexico.

Good Afternoon Beachy! Yes, I picked up my little frock at the same store that you found yours. LOL!
I see Santa is lining up all of the gifts that you bought for me. Heeeheeee.
What is this about one more class? I thought it was all over, done, finne. Is the last class just a formality?

Good to see you Jack! I'm glad you like the Canteen's holiday decor. Ma (Kathy) spares no expense in decorating. :)

Betsy! Thank you for your messages and for "My Sweet Lord."
I'm glad you are impressed that I managed not to spill a drop of pancake batter on myself when my new recipe exploded. The Canteen Divas have taught me well.
I see the Gipper still wants me to be free, but where is Paul Revere? Would you believe that I still have my little Paul Revere doll that I bought at his house in Boston in 1977?
