What is missing this weekend is important -- significant attacks in Iraq.
This is MAJOR NEWS when the terrorists/insurgents are unable to sustain attacks in Iraq.
It means our troops are safe [one marine KIA though] and the troops are doing their job.
This should be FRONT PAGE NEWS -- the EFFECTIVE WORK of our troops.
In essence I am reporting the ABSENCE of major events in Iraq.
And I hope this will continue to be a low key weekend.
Once upon a time -- in World War I -- it was big time news. The story was All Quiet on the Western Front. That was back when we could trust the media.
We should not just report the negative things, but we need to report the positive things done in Iraq.
And apparently this weekend the troops are on the ball, along with the Iraqi government, keeping the peace.
Let us pray for them, and let us hope that this peaceful lull continues.
And we need to show our appreciation for the effort put out our troops in Harm's Way. Even if the MSM loathes our troops, that means we must work all the harder to Support Our Troops! God bless them!
Remember, what is good news for our warriors and their families and friends is bad news for the MSM and the mentally ill lunatic lefties.
The MSM makes it painful for some people in the US to look at news -- not knowing if it about a loved one.
It is my hope that this article is soothing to families of service personnel in Iraq.
Going a step further, the good things happening in Iraq need to be covered. There is not an absence of incredible improvements going on in Iraq. How about the people registering to vote, the political parties putting candidates forward.
There is plenty to report; it just isn't "bad" enough for the media.

Agreed. But what is truly sad is that the Media is not supportive of our troops or fighting on the same side as our troops.
Very interesting!
I must escape from my obsession from that topic and get some gifts for an early Christmas dinner, but I feel better now, thank you!
I hateee.... and loathe....the Main Stream media.....

Hardcover - (September 2004) - $27.95 In this tour de force on the most important issue of our time, David Horowitz, confronts the paradox of how so many Americans, including the leadership of the Democratic Party, could turn against the War on Terror. He finds an answer in a political Left that shares a view of America as the ?Great Satan? with America?s radical Islamic enemies. |
Bump!
Thanks for posting it.
The MSM and their treatment of the Iraqi situation is daily proof of what rotten POS's they are.
I hope it will remain quiet, and the peacefull weekend becomes a topic on the Sunday morning Shows. Some conservative should be able to tear some liberals up with this -- if God wills it... And for the sake of our troops...
The MSM doesn't know how to report anything good
They remind me of my mother in law ... always looking for the worse .. The live for it
Scott Peterson, Monica Lewinsky, Gary Condit, Michael Jackson, Kobe Bryant.
Whenever you've heard the news turn to gossip, it means we're winning and they don't want to report success. So they will turn to some story of personal tragedy or destruction.
Just remember it when you see GOSSIPNEWS. It really means that the hard work is getting done and the positive things are quietly going on behind the scenes.
If that INTEL is good, especially on the timing, then how and where roadblocks are setup can be changed just prior -- as well as adding some tricks and treats to those trying to bomb them.
In another thread, I alluded to blowing out the tires of cars -- and taking out the driver if the car fails to slow down -- at check points.
A car bomber might prematurely explode in such a situation -- tires going flat might set off the explosives.
Change the rules and take out the bad guys.
There are some possible things that might be done -- if our folks use intelligence and hard work to save lives.
Good INTEL [breaking the Jap Codes] and hard work turned the tide at Midway Island [WW II] -- the Japanese suffered a humiliating defeat to a much smaller US Force.
"Islamists and hired killers continue to flood into the country,"
Any solutions for this?
I agree re: the underreporting of the drop in attacks and with rockingham's comments and wish to add my own.
I think that President Bush really hit the trifecta with this election - the popular vote, the electoral vote, and to top it all off - Arafat dies!
I truly believe that the wrangling over his corpse by his spouse (after all terrorist leaders dont have pension plans - he died a week before it was announced but Suha first wanted a payoff for legitimizing any successors) has severely crimped the financing for terrorism - there is not a one to one correspondence but I do believe that along with whatever else goes through a terrorists mind (including his a** after the explosives detonate) is the idea of recompense for his family/survivors and that linkage has been severed with Arafat's death thus making our mission in the mideast at large that much less dangerous (although it is still dangerous) and our troops will hopefully sustain fewer casualties.
I think that the mercenary incentive has been reduced if not almost eliminated - there is of course nothing stopping others from stepping up and offering cash bounties but the ones who were already doing it now have to find another facilitator with Arafat's death - the man himself was merely a man but he did preside over an organization that performed all sorts of dirty work for the so-called moderate Arab states using a poor and desperate underclass as human bombs.
Speaking of mentally ill luntatic lefties, the Conyers 'hearing' the other day was a sight to behold. They had more illness in that one room than Quacker's has oats! It was awesome entertainment! If I heard one more person talk about people being in the "cold and rain" I was going to lose my lunch. They were obsessed with it! They talked about it so much it made me think of my old Army days. Believe it or not, we had to actually be outside when it was cold, raining, or even both!
It also made me think about the serious lack of liberals in our all volunteer fighting force. I think its no coincidence that our fighting forces are the best in the World. Best in the World, and no liberals...hmmmmmmm
