MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — The state slogan "Heart of Dixie," a source of pride to some and embarrassment to others, is disappearing from more Alabama license plates every year.

One-third of the groups that promote distinctive and collegiate license plates now choose to leave the slogan off their tags.

The standard state license plate still has "Heart of Dixie," but it's reduced to letters one-sixteenth of an inch high and it's placed in the bottom corner of the tag where it's barely visible to passing motorists.

I learned in school that as American citizens we have "freedom of speech and expression". So why are these plates even an issue?

Because communists believe that freedom of speech should only be reserved for themselves (Lenin actually professed this).

Kinda hard to get back on your feet when an invading army destroys entire portions of your country, burns whole cites to the ground (Atlanta), loots and plunders everything in site, then promises to rebuild everything (never does) and then ships what good jobs you have left to India, China, Mexico, etc. at the same time that you are demeaned constantly- religious zealots, jesusland, bible belt, right-wing nuts, rednecks, hicks, inbred, country bumkins, etc.

Texaggie, you seem to have some confusion between segregation and freedom of association. Forced segregation ended long ago, freedom of association is still legal. (at least for now)
