That is great to hear about your Mum; it must be a load off you and your Dad to know that your Mum is safe and happy. You have all been through so much...What are your plans at Christmas?

Better double-check that workmanship, Mr. President. Beware union goons in these uncertain times.

Actually, that photo adds a sense of finality to this election cycle. I can begin to breath easier.

Christmas plans well dad and I and dad's friend will pick mum up about 11.30am from the home hopefully turkey will nearly be cooked (if I get my act into gear). Then I will get mum to help me with the veg have the meal about 1.00pm, do presents about 2.00pm and take her back to the home between 3.00 and 4.00pm.

What will you have for Christmas dinner we will have Roast Turkey, brussel sprouts, carrots, roast potatoes and roast parsnips with Cranberry Sauce. Then Christmas pudding and cream or custard. Followed by mince pies.

g'day Dolly! Microchipping Day is when the oragnisation I work for offer discount microchip identification for your dog or cat. We were working in an high government welfare area this morning were folks can't afford the higher price to microchip their pets.

It was a fairly successful morning and we only got verbally abused once! LOL. We were told we should be spending taxpayers money in a better way. I politely asked the "gentleman" to make sure that the gate didn't hit him too hard on the way out and to have a Merry Christmas.....Can't win 'em all!

Sounds like you and I are having the same Christmas dinner LOL. It's the English blood flowing through our veins!!

Even though our Christmas Day is in the middle of summer my Mum still cooks the traditional dinner - turkey and all the trimmings. Even when the weather is near 100 degrees outside! And she makes her homemade fruit mince pies (with the Robertsons Fruit Mince) as well as trifle (Yum!).

We can get Mr Kiplings Fruit Mince Pies here at this time of the year and they are yummy too.

Finally!!

Here is the url for the Inauguration website and the link to the camera is on that page.

The web cam is down temporarily, but it is a nice clear shot when it is working.

This is the first time it's been down.

I would love to get Oliver microchipped. Maybe this spring I will have some $$$ to work with. Good for you for doing this & excellent answer to Mr. Jerko today.

My mom has orthopadic problems. Knees, back, hips.. hardly can walk. Severe pain. should have hip/knee surgery but her VERY overweightg condition precludes. She can still make it to her bathroom. so I can still keep her here. I have told her & she really uderstands that if she can no longer make it on her own to bathroom, she will go to nursing home.
That is her motivation to try hard. Here she has all her pets , a wonderful view from her window of the grounds her which is contiguous to National Park with many wild animals always about.

sigh..it is hard to get old & have these problems.

Thanks to all of you who participate in this daily Dose as well as you who post the pictures. I don't have much free time these days but I nearly always take a quick look and read the posts late at night. I learn a lot.

Thanks Mike, for the ping and posting the dose. Great pictures. It is very refreshing to see the President doing volunteer work like this, and like Habitat for Humanity. He is so busy but makes time for things like this. And since it is past the election you KNOW it isn't a campaign thingee. He shows a great attitude toward volunteer work.

my vegetarian diet for holidays is about as unappealing as they come. I recall making the English type of meals years ago... yorkshire pudding became a speciality. I often had the beef plus a smaller bird. Just for variety. This was before so many eliminated red meat for health reasons.

I love looking at holiday cookbooks & the beautiful table settings, great decorations & the yummy dishes

I heard on the radio earlier today the rats saying this was all a cheap photo op ..no sincerity... (maybe just a little wee bit of projection?)

Did you know that Prescott Bush was the first USO President?

This is a family thing with them I'll bet.

Those nasty rats wouldn't have any idea what true goodness looks like.

I'll post the press release in a second.
