my vegetarian diet for holidays is about as unappealing as they come. I recall making the English type of meals years ago... yorkshire pudding became a speciality. I often had the beef plus a smaller bird. Just for variety. This was before so many eliminated red meat for health reasons.

I love looking at holiday cookbooks & the beautiful table settings, great decorations & the yummy dishes

Half of the fun is the preparation. I am always in charge of the salads - pasta salad, seafood, Greek, etc. We usually have a buffet-type selection of salads, vegies and meats but this year my Mum has a bee in her bonnet about having a traditional Christmas roast dinner. So my salads will have to wait...

I worry about my Mum cooking in such HOT weather like it traditionally is here - even though home is air-conditioned - its up near 100 degrees in the kitchen when the cooking is being done. But I am not arguing with my Mum and she insists on doing it all herself. ;0)
