NBC Defends Couric's Anti-Christian Rant by Gary Schneeberger, editor

Network refuses to apologize for the "Today" host's 1998 intimation that groups like Focus on the Family incited the murder of Matthew Shepard.

NBC News has refused to apologize to Christians maligned by "Today" show host Katie Couric's insinuation that biblical teachings on homosexuality in part prompted the 1998 murder of gay teenager Matthew Shepard.

In a Dec. 8 letter to Focus on the Family, a network executive rejected the ministry's call for an apology, made in light of a recent news report on ABC's "20/20" that debunked the longstanding notion that the attack on Shepard was a homophobic "hate crime."

She needs another colonscopy.
Perhaps this time they will be able to locate her head.

I'm paraphrasing here, but I seem to recall hearing a few years ago after Dr. James Dobson had either a heart attack or stroke, she spewed some venomous comment about "Maybe God was punishing him." If she really believes that, what does she think was the reason for the death of her husband and her sister to cancer? She had better not step outside during a storm. Surely a bolt of lightning is headed her way. She is evil to the core.

Every addition to my warehouse of knowledge adds to my feeling of well-being.

I won't torment you by asking exactly what did Jay Monahan do.

I heard the term "Christophobe" for the first time today. I think I'll assist in its mainstreaming.

She appears to me as the most undisiplined, bratty little girl I have ever seen.

Makes you wonder why she is so popular. The other day I was getting warranty work on my car at my local dealership. In the waiting room there were maybe 10 women and 3 three men. NBC Today show was on. EVERYONE, was enraptured by the perky one. As I looked at each person, I was amazed at the undivided attention they were giving her as she spoke. I wondered what it was that engaged them so?

I shook my head walked out of the room wondering how far out of touch I must be with my fellow humans!!

From what has been recently revealed by the perpetrators, robbery was the only motive. Christianity was not a part of this murderous act. The bottom line: Christ was not in the criminal hearts of the savages convicted for Shepard's killing.

Once again, Couric demonstrates her complete isolation from her fellow human beings. Is she living on some space ship? Has her wealth so insulated her? If she had real human contact, it would be self evident to her that Christians do not murder.

Couric is a perky, brainless twit.

You are giving her too much credit. Your description gives her an excuse. She's a POS scumbag that knows exactly what she is doing. Condemn our troops and rant religious discrimination/bigotry with one breath and enable terrorists and spew sympathy for perverts and promote their agenda with the next.

Sooner or later Miss Mouth will get her chance to rant to His face. Bet she doesn't have much to say then.

My family used to start each morning with the Today Show, that is until Katie became so blatantly left wing wacko anti-values and any other label there is around to describe this vile pretense of Journalism. Never do I watch it now.

No, that was not Katie Couric. It was Julianne Malveaux, DNC strategist/evildoer. The exact quote:
"I hope his wife feeds him lots of eggs and butter and he dies early like many black men do, of heart disease....He is an absolutely reprehensible person." -- USA Today columnist and Pacifica Radio talk show host Julianne Malveaux on Justice Clarence Thomas, November 4 PBS To the Contrary.

The Media Research Center honored her with the 1994 Damn Those Conservatives award.

I stand corrected, thank you. Although I am sure the perky
one would have said it, if she had thought first.

jeez I don't have any love lost for Chimpmunk Couric but that's kind of old news. A comment from '98? She's said a lot more inflamatory crap than that just in the run-up to the election of you want to rag on her.

The reason this 1998 statement comes up now is that the reason for it - the "hate crime" murder of Matthew Shepherd - was recently been shown to be a meth-inspired robbery by ABC News. Couric had used the "hate crime" news to make a few hateful comments of her own. A nice person would apologize under the circumstances, but Couric will not and NBC defends her nastiness.

Thanks for the link, the woman is truely despicable, but I
guess she is not much worse than Dan Rather and the rest.

They're all pretty much in the same camp. This is what bugs me about the morning shows:

"Hi, girlfriend! Join us for some coffee! We'll show you the latest fashions, talk to a movie star, and later, after the recipe for the latest low carb salad, we'll tell you what disaster George Bush brought upon America today! Stay tuned!"
