"She appears to me as the most undisiplined, bratty little girl I have ever seen."

You forgot "skank".

Don't you think it did help frame the mind set of those that did kill Shepard... ?

I remember this. Katie lied and said she'd spoken to Dobson and that they ironed out their differences.

She insisted on having pro-gays on who blamed Christians for inciting the sort of violence against gays that killed Matthew Shepard.

The truth was she was helping these gay rights activists exploit the death of Matthew Shepard in an attempt to silence Christians they saw as standing in the way of the total normalization of homosexuality, gay marriage etc.

Obviously the last election shows it didn't work.

"The Today show? Is that still on?

Wow. Who'd of thunk it?"

Man, Dave Garroway must be 100 years old! Guess this Katy Couric replaced J. Fred Muggs.

NBC News Executive Producer for Broadcast Standards David McCormick defended Couric's comments in denying Focus' request for an apology, noting that in the days after the critically injured Shepard was found tied to a fencepost, "there was a great deal of speculation that the crime may have been motivated by hate."

"If you look closely at the transcript of the interview, you will note that Ms. Couric was quoting 'gay activists' who were quite vocal at the time of Mr. Shepard's death," McCormick wrote. "She was not making a statement of fact and she was certainly not insinuating that" Christians were responsible for Shepard's murder.

Hodel[Focus President] wasn't buying that line of reasoning.

"As we allknow, the tone and manner with which a question is posed can convey a great deal of information," Hodel wrote to McCormick on Thursday. "It was clear six years ago, and remains clear today, that Ms. Couric's tone and manner were not that of an impartial journalist seeking the truth about a tragedy. It was the tone and manner of an advocate intent on repeating an unfounded accusation disguised as a question.

"She set up this question by asking one leading and loaded question after another at the besieged governor of Wyoming, pressing him to express the intention of going back to Wyoming and pushing for "hate crime" legislation, making plain that she clearly considered the killing to be a hate crime.

"Then, finally, she named three Christian organizations (one of them Focus on the Family) and asserted the gay rights activists' charges of 'contributing to this anti-homosexual atmosphere' by having an ad campaign that suggested that gay people might like to change their orientation," Hodel added. "It was definitely a 'have you stopped beating your wife?' type of question, and her meaning was inescapable."

Hodel concluded his response by suggesting that NBC's refusal to admit its wrongdoing is likely to have repercussions.

"It is viewers who understand that . . . the nightly news is increasingly becoming the nightly opportunity to mock traditional values who are turning away from the broadcast networks for their information," he noted. "They, like us, are disappointed — but hardly surprised — at NBC News' refusal to admit the truth about Ms. Couric's ugly insinuation.

I don't remember his name - can see his face. Was also a reporter or pundit. Now I'll have to look it up on the Net.

Thanks a lot :)

Named in honor of Jay Monahan - the late husband of NBC "TODAY" show co-anchor Katie Couric - who died at age 42 of colon cancer,

HAPPY NOW? ;)

I believe Katie herself indulged in a little HATE speech
a few years back during the confirmation hearings of Judge
Thomas. I don't watch her myself, but Rush reported that she
said on the air that maybe his wife would keep feeding him
those unhealthy meals and he would just DIE early from a
heart attack like the majority of BLACK men.
I don't believe in the concept of hate crime legislation,
but if I did, I would have to say that statement would probably qualify as an example of it.

This is exactly what happens when you pay someone millions of dollars a year to be a talking head on TV and treat her like Cleopatra.

if you have studied the CBS Rathergate scandal then you are certainly aware that although the NBC NEWS story and Ms Curic's subsequent rant against Christians and their homophobia were completely wrong its all ok because in the MSM it does not matter what actually did happen. the important thing is that by circulating falsehoods and bigotry they have proved that the story was beleived to be true by themselves and their many friends. since it was believed to be true, then it could have been true. if it could have been true, then it is important to report it before anyone else. that way you get the credit for finding out something and making it happen, even though it didn't and wouldn't have if you hadn't reported it. this important function of the media, namely to create incidences to butress our cultural biases is bestowed upon the media to counter the much too difficult rules in the legal system that insist that every criminal is innocent until proven guilty and all appeals and rationalizations have been exhaused.

"Will Katie Couric also then link the Kinsey report to the 2 Gay men who tied up and soddomised a boy who died of suffocation????"

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Jesse Dirkheising of Rogers, Arkansas.

No, a putrid oozing pustule of a dung-licking skank like Couric isn't going to tell her adoring audience about that youngster's gruesome death at the hands of her pederast pals.
