MoveOn to Democratic Party: 'We Own It'

WASHINGTON - Liberal powerhouse MoveOn has a message for the "professional election losers" who run the Democratic Party: "We bought it, we own it, we're going to take it back."

A scathing e-mail from the head of MoveOn's political action committee to the group's supporters on Thursday targets outgoing Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe as a tool of corporate donors who alienated both traditional and progressive Democrats.

"For years, the party has been led by elite Washington insiders who are closer to corporate lobbyists than they are to the Democratic base," said the e-mail from MoveOn PAC's Eli Pariser. "But we can't afford four more years of leadership by a consulting class of professional election losers."

Under McAuliffe's leadership, the message said, the party coddled the same corporate donors that fund Republicans to bring in money at the expense of vision and integrity.

"In the last year, grass-roots contributors like us gave more than $300 million to the Kerry campaign and the DNC, and proved that the party doesn't need corporate cash to be competitive," the message continued. "Now it's our party: we bought it, we own it, and we're going to take it back."

Pariser urged MoveOn supporters to help support a DNC chair with a bold vision to represent Democrats outside Washington. Democrats will vote at their February meeting in Washington on a successor to McAuliffe.

DNC spokesman Jano Cabrera declined to engage in a tit-for-tat with MoveOn, but praised McAuliffe's efforts.

"Call me crazy, but I think the fact that for the first time in party history we outraised the Republicans, and did so primarily through grass-roots fund raising is something to be proud of," Cabrera said.

Among those vying for the party chairmanship is former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, an early darling of MoveOn's cybernetwork of activists when he ran for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Something like $290 million of the "grass roots" money came from George Soros. Yeah, that's right, grass roots. Crab grass.

To Eli Pariser: He bought you. He owns you. Just like he bought and paid for the failed corrupt government of the Ukraine. Well, the same fate awaits MoveOn.ORG and it's corrupt minions (and their Clintonista masters).

Your tag cracks me up..

what a bunch of twits these Democrats are.

They don't even know what they stand for -other than worshiping gays and lesbians and demanding to kill unborn children.

Hillary has her work cut out for her!!!

They know they was a socialist or an anarchist, on the ticket, or one of each who happen to be in an openly homosexual marriage to run as a team-Other than that they don't know if they are coming or going!

SSSSHHH!!!! Stop it!! It's not about facts. It's about how I feel.

Plus, you forgot to add in the time that Nixon really won in 1960, and the time that Clinton only won because of Perot, which set him up to win in 1996 as well. That takes three out of the Demon win column.

"We bought it, we own it, we're taking it back."

1) You also have to pay for the tow truck.

2) So corporations can buy influence in Washington after all, as long as it's the RIGHT KIND of corporations, eh, MoveOn-ites? So much for Campaign Finance Reform...

"I think Hillary is more into the power at this point than furthering ideological goals."

Oh, I totally agree. She is waaaaaay more into the power, which explains her quite sudden "centrist" positions the media have been crowing about lately.

But my question is: if the DNC swings even further left, she must know that puts her chances of getting nominated as top dog even further away, since she is now an official "centrist".

So what will she do? swing to the left to get the nomination, then try a swing back to get elected? I do not see that... she would risk exposing her power-lust too much if she tried that trick. People might actually start listening to us "crazy right wingers" who scream about how she only wants power, power and more power. Too much risk, IMO

So that leaves her breaking off from the DNC if the Deaniacs take over. And I honestly dont see how she could win that way. Who will follow her? The entire DNC? No way. The DLC arm would, but the true believers will stay behind and/or possibly go Green because they believe there wont be a chance in h*ll of winning anytime soon again with a fractured DNC.

But the DLC arm is not big enough to put up a serious fight on its own.... sooooooo, what will ole hillary do if the party goes even further left?

Thanks for the link. Here is a quote from DU I thought was funny:

"I volunteered for MoveOn for awhile until I realized they were completely disorganized as far as- get the Vote effort. I went to a local DFL office and they put me to work. I got so much more accomplished with the DFL in ONE day than w/ MoveOn. Then I read an article on Yahoo where MoveOn took all the credit for the huge voter turnout. I e-mailed Eli expressing my rage and, of course, never heard back. They are arrogant and self-rightous."---

Hellary herself is far left like the loonies ... she just talks like she is in the middle

She'll give Dean some kind of title to keep the wackos happy .. while trying to look like a center candidate

The real questions comes down to ... can she keep Dean and the wackos in line whithout blowing her cover.

IMO ... not a chance

- If that isn't George Soros thinking out loud, I'll eat my shirt. After all, he didn't sink about $25 million into the last election without expecting some benefit.

Democrat grass-roots millions + their idiotic far-Left agenda + control of the Democrat Party = Republicans win from now on.

They should be heartily encouraged.

I just posted this on a similar thread, but I'll put it here, too.

My buddy and I were discussing this sort of thing the other day at work. Anyway, we heard that Dean has suggested that the RATS not cede the south or the far west to the 'pubbies. That they should aggressively court the south and west. We agree, bring it on! C'mon down heah and tell us GOD FEARIN' folks how you want to abort our youngin's as they're still being birthed and wanna take ALL our guns away and allow the homosexuals to deny the word of God and marry each other and then adopt a child...why SURE that'll fly just fine in these parts!
