He's the kindest, sweetest murderer you'd ever want to meet.

After all, it's his first offense. And he's such a nice, sweet, boy. Always helping people. I'm sure that little matter of the murders was just a one-time slip. So out of character...

"if you were to take Scott away from us ... we would lose a whole family.

This reminds me of the man who killed his parents and then begged the mercy of the court because he was an orphan.

Had she put some sense of Right and Wrong into the boy she raised she could be bouncing baby Conner on he knee right now.

Hey man this is California, he ain't about to Die. He might live in a rather secure facility for the rest of his p.o.s. life but hey Charlie Manson didn't die in California.
In Texas this piece of garbbage would go in about 3 years.

'"It would be like Laci never existed," she said.'

I'm sure Laci's parents will disagree. Scott didn't learn how to be a manipulative liar on his own. Judging by her comments, Mrs. Peterson is at the very least manipulative. I still don't believe she needs oxygen 24/7. I remember seeing a picture of her and her husband after the murders, and she had no oxygen and looked quite fit. Something is very wrong with that family.

This is one scary two faced animal. Sorry mom has the hoses in her nose. Mom shouldn't have lied on the witness stand for him. I guess that is where he get's it.

"Your Honor, anyone can make a mistake. He told me on the phone just last night how sorry he was and if the judge lets him live he will never ever do anything like that again, swear on a stack of Bibles!!!!"

What a load of horse manure. Burn Scotty Burn!

Except for killing his wife and child, having multiple affairs, telling one of his affairs that his wife was dead, lying every stinking day of his life, dying his hair, buying a car and telling the seller that his own name was Jaqueline, and possibly setting up Amber to be killed in the mountians, he was a very good boy.

What!!! The obligatory next door neighbor hasn't appeared to tell us "he was a quiet man...that seemed very nice. He stayed in his room a lot. Aside from the time we saw him running about the yard wearing a dress and wielding a chansaw we never suspected a thing. So what if he consistently screamed 'the moon is attacking' while frothing at the mouth and impaing his eyeballs with cocktail swords. He always mowed his yard."

C'mon....I want the obligatory neighbor!

Although most of me wants to see this guy get the ultimate penalty, perhaps spending the rest of his life being passed around as a "prison bitch" by dozens of big, ugly cons would be a fitting future, too.

"if you were to take Scott away from us ... we would lose a whole family."

Scott should have thought that out a year ago, but I guess he thought he was so smart that he'd never get caught.

She says he's only 30 yrs. old so he didn't know how to act when his wife disappeared.

Don't most people dye their hair, grow a goatee, chat up their mistress, try to sell their house and car, take a new identity, $15,000 and head for the border?

Why is that maudlin soap opera NATIONAL news???? When it's over Greta Van Suteren will have nothing to blabber on about. Maybe she can have the 10 year reunion special in 2014

What's *really* sad is....

"Justice" won't be served either way (LWP or Death) here in KA. A caller-in to KFBK (Sacramento) radio, who works in the Folsom Prison "VIP" wing (hi-profile killers and other scum), reports that those inmates *aren't* placed in the general population.

He reports that they get big cells (even by themselves), are *served* meals (no mess hall for them), and really do lead a handled-with-kid-gloves existance.

Hard to believe but, why *has* Charles Manson survived all these years "in the system"???

Seems the Department of Corrections is concerned about the "risks and rights" aspect. If anything happened, the families, with Prisoner Rights Group backing (and maybe the ACLU), could sue big time.

So...if LWP "good old Scotty" wll be the much-coddled permanent guest of the CA taxpayers @ $60K per year. If Death, the appeals process will drag 20 years...but the Death Row cells *are* smaller.

Not much comfort to Laci's family either way.

I wish this -had- taken place in Texas.... they know what to do down there

"I know he's not perfect ..."

Yeah...murder and dismember your pregnant wife without a thought.

Oh well...who are we to judge?
