AS this link - re. a new "horror" cable channel - shows, there always seems to be a new cable channel springing up, for some niche market or other. Well, how about a BLUE STATE CHANNEL?
What could they put on? No, not just softcore porn - that gets boring after 10 hours a day. How about a weekly half-hour show for intellectuals, "God is still dead," with different professors giving reasons why believers are stupid? For efficiency sake, they could also merge with the Lifetime Channel, so you'd have one go-to place for all the man-bad-woman-good TV movies ever made. Any other ideas?
Err...we pretty much mostly all blue state channels now. There's ABCNBCCBS, PBS, CNN, Cinimax, E!, Animal Planet the Gay and Lesbian channel or whatever it's called...
Ah yes and Lifetime. Knew I forgot some. I've always hated those male bashing programs, and I'm a woman.
Because women with common sense tend to have healthy relationships with reasonably decent men.
Or maybe that's "reasonably healthy relationships with decent men."
Because the women with common sense are republicans or conservatives, and the libs won't watch that.
Too bad they only run them during the beg-a-thons.
LOL. Here it's the "A Woman is Sad, A Man Must Die" Channel.
Looped replays of the last 3 minutes of the 1972 Olympic basketball game USSR vs. US. Nostalgia time for the libs.
Why bother? They already have Sundance.
After hours, a Test Pattern with a Hammer and Sickle.
Some, yes, not all. The Kentucky PBS network (KET) does a lot of Kentucky-oriented history and and tourism shows that have no political agenda whatsoever.
What would a "blue channel" run? Blue movies.
Flat Earth Society Conventions
Ever turn on a Public Access Channel?
No commercials (taxpayer funded), lunatic fringe conspiracy propaganda, thinly veiled hate tracts, "important information" over entertainment, and adults only language/nudity when they do offer something recreational.
Actually their test pattern would have a bunny with a pancake on its head in the middle. The corners would be alternating hammers/cycles and red stars. Maybe even an upside down cross.
sickles...
About the only thing I ever watch on PBS is This Old House, Ask This Old House, New Yankee Workshop, Hometime, and Motorweek. Other than that, it's not worth watching. Even programs like Nova and Scientific American Frontiers With Alan Alda have a Liberal slant to them.
I'll agree with you on the science shows having a liberal slant. But, according to some of these posters, New Yankee Workshop is a liberal show too. Can't say I agree. Norm Abram (the host) may be a dork, but that doesn't mean he's a liberal dork. LOL And, well, chances are good that he is liberal, but I've never seen any of his political philosophies bleed over into the show. As Freud would say, Sometimes a miter joint is just a miter joint. : )
I agree. I've yet to hear Norm Abrams espouse any sort of political ideology on his program, he's too busy telling me to wear prescription glasses because flying chips of wood might puncture my eyeball. LOL
