I'm trying to remember who "taught" me.

I still remember the first time I voted and worrying that I wouldn't know how to do it right

But once I got in the machine .. it was pretty dang easy

All one has to do is read the names and push the button next to the person's name ... and this was back in the 1980's

Did you see the black shirted young people at the polls in Raleigh who were sponsored by People for the American Way and by the NAACP? They gave sheets and a lecture to all vehicle occupants about not letting anybody keep anybody from voting........?? I asked a Republican poll worker who sponsored them and she naively said - oh they are non-biased. I got one of their fliers and upon reading the sponsorship - said to her, "think again." It is amazing the ignorance of so many.

For the candidates on the ballot, I know who I am going to vote for. As for the issues, I take a piece of paper with the ballot issues and a 'Y' or 'N' written next to it, I think pencil in the 'x' next to the 'Y' or 'N' for each issue. I'm out of the polling place in less than a minute.

I bet the few students who actually got their lazy asses out of bed that morning early did not have to wait in line long.

You started it with your silly criticism of that graphic. It's been posted a thousand times.

Jesse - this election is NOT OVER.

ONe simply wonders if Kerry had prevailed - these same people would be out crowing about their well earned victory....with nary a PEEP about these issues..........NOT A PEEP.

I worked the polls and you cannot get people through in one minute. It just doesn't work that way. We had a lengthy ballot in our county and it even took those who brought a marked sample more than one minute.

If these voters didn't all show up at the polls at the very same time, they wouldn't have to wait. I vote in the late afternoon when there is no wait time.

What he really means is the system is irretrievably broken until they find a way for Kerry to win.

Give it up Jesse, you are a joke.

First place. I wasn't the only one who commented on the graphic. And the second place: It was and is offensive, no matter how many times it has been posted in the past. The mods apparently agreed.

We have old fashioned lever voting machines in NYC. I flipped the levers and pulled the bar in less than 30 seconds.

To be honest...during college...voting wasn't a high priority yet I still voted absentee.

But you're right...if Spanish Lab wasn't enough to get my butt outta bed at 8am on Fridays...voting sure wouldn't.

(I failed to take the testing out of Spanish test...so the whole required Spanish course was a cakewalk...and did what I needed to do to get a good grade...nothing more)

College students aren't stupid...their priorities are just different.
