I contacted this foundation after seeing it posted first on FreeRepublic. I asked them what specific items they needed and where to send them. Please don't forget the wounded, especially during the holidays. Cards and letters would be appreciated too.
Note this is the AMERICAN Red Cross -- not the International Red Cross.

If we send the cards to "Any Service Member," will they get there, or will that violate security?

I'm glad you pointed out it was the American - because when I saw Red Cross - my first thought was I wonder how much will really get to the soldiers -
The International branch is corrupt beyond belief - let's hope the American Red Cross can still be counted on - but the events of 9/11 are still fresh in the mind - if it hadn't been for O'Reilly the families of 9/11 would probably still be waiting for relief from the Red Cross - It's hard to trust them again after what went on - just my opinion -
There have to be other places that are set up to aid the military -
The Salvation Army is great for aiding - too bad no group is together helping the military from this charity - they can be counted on - Great record -

I would rather send gifts to these soldiers than most of my relatives!

Exactly. The ones that use the donations to give themselves raises and build themselves nicer offices.
Anyone who would like to help a specific wounded soldier, say, LT Dennis Skelton who is at Walter Reed now for surgeries to repair severe left arm and left leg injuries suffered at Fallujah (he also lost his left eye), FReepmail me.

Has anyone expressed interest in visiting the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda? My wife and I would like to take up collections from our neighbors and coworkers and take them to them directly.
I may be wrong but aren't our wounded Marines there?
