Caption: Tony Blair Christmas card [Where's the Christams?]
BBC ^ | December 6, 2004 | BBC

He is famous for his ever-so-slightly risqué black and white nudes and fashion photography. Now John Swannell has turned his lens on Tony and Cherie Blair - for their entirely non-controversial Christmas card. The world-renowned snapper, favoured by many celebrities, has the couple posing in relaxed, smart-but-casual mode under one of Chequers' Gothic-style arches.

Last year the Blairs had two cards - one official and one for family and close friends - but that has been dropped in favour of one simple card featuring just the two of them. But this year's is notable for the fact it carries no greeting whatsoever. Like one of those all-purpose ones you buy in the High Street, it is fit for any occasion. Just add your own message.

Well as I noted before I got mine also and am glad it was an INCLUSIVE Holiday Card.

Being a Jew I hope you understand what I mean.

John Swannell is a famous photograpgr good grief..his composition is off, colors are boring and the couple looks high on holiday glogg. It may have been better if Swannell had shot a black and white photo he is so famous for..

They could have at least had SNOW. No matter what your faith or demonination, we in the Northern hemisphere are experiencing WINTER during the holiday season. As Britain happens by a coincidence of tectonic plate action to FLOAT in the Northern hemisphere, I see no reason a card done with a bit of SNOW would have been in ANY way "UNinclusive".

Sorry, the card is just plain silly. It's not a generic holidy greeting : it's the king and queen of the prom handing everyone at school a photo of themselves.

Happy Ramachanuhkwanzmas from the Blairs.

Ouch!

And that Virgin ad campaign can return to hell from whence it came.

How about them not sending you a Christmas card since you're Jewish? I mean, I don't expect to get a "Happy Season" card from my Jewish friends on Passover.

I don't get it.

>>What's she wearing? Looks like a hospital gown and he's there on visiting day....<<

Now, now... she's just still in her pajamas. She wasted away a good chunk of the morning blogging, you know?

Well marketeers market December as the Holiday Season. Christmas, Chanukah, etc.

When I sent my Donations to President Bush and the RNC there was no where to make off my race or religion so I am quite happy to have gotten a Happy Holidays card from President Bush and Laura and not an assumptive Merry Christmas card.

I am glad we now have a US President who puts a Bible verse on his Christmas/Holiday card and he means it.

I don't care if its old or new testament as a belief in God is enough for me. Such believers usually have good personal values and we need values in those who serve us in government.
