Another great film for the whole family. It deals with the search for freedom, a child escaping from the Communist bloc. BUT, it's not being released throughout the nation...just 14 states last I checked.

FR appears to be barfing today as the servers are relaying the posts.
That was an improper citation of the quote that I corrected (both appear in the article, only one is right) BEFORE I posted it. This means that what you post may not be what OTHERS see you post (at least for a time being) if you use the preview option.

"...grandchildren who are prisoners in a public school."
I keep hearing this a lot lately. Are their parents doing anything to liberate them? (you do not have to answer...it's mostly a rhetorical question)

Will it be coming to blue states?

But we get Ocean's 12 shoved down out throats from the media
"Twelve is the new eleven"...
I've got to give the Hollywood liberal nutburgers credit...
they consistently believe in the liberal-education faith in "the new math".

I have to chuckle...you sound just like me. Plaintively wondering why this movie is not being released nationwide! I have emailed the producers and hope to get a response.

That quote appears towards the end of McCullough's column.

I just heard Laura Ingraham RAVING about this wonderful movie. And Michael Medved's been trying very hard to flog "Christmas with the Kranks" into popularity.
Both films are getting terrible reviews across the board (for "David" there are some positive reviews, for "Kranks" almost none) - and it doesn't look like just leftist bias, rather a recognition that both movies just aren't very good. Go to rottentomatoes.com and take a look.
Sometimes a thing is simply what it is. No conspiracy involved.

(Asner):"I think Joe Stalin was a guy that was hugely misunderstood,"Kill tally: Approximately 20 million, including up to 14.5 million needlessly starved to death. At least one million executed for political "offences". At least 9.5 million more deported, exiled or imprisoned in work camps, with many of the estimated five million sent to the 'Gulag Archipelago' never returning alive. Other estimates place the number of deported at 28 million, including 18 million sent to the 'Gulag'.

Good reference work (probably easily found at amazon.com)
"The Black Book of Communism".
IIRC, it was even authored (mostly?) by French writers...

Critics and wannabe critics regularly give rave reviews to abject junk...how about letting us viewers decide what we like?

i thought asner as "santa" in "elf" was one of the meanest portrayals i have ever seen...it revealed him for what he is...a nasty old man full of hate, just like when he told sean hannity he hates him...it was truly shocking and mean, revealing him for what he is.

Re: Ed Asner: 'Hannity's next ... just like we went after Limbaugh'
I've been saying for years that our side must go on the offensive against these types. Lets end some careers, bankrupt some bigwigs, make a few of these people homless.
Our side is notably weak in this area, I am sorry to say. They keep doing this because they have discovered that there is no downside to attacking. Until some of them suffer personally from it, they will keep doing it.
Not responding to bad behavior only enocurages bad behavior.

How was the Duvall movie, Stalin? I never saw it, but I know Duvall despises communism. I figure he wouldn't make a movie that would glorify the man.
One reason I wouldn't be surprised by a Hollywood critique of Stalin is that the Left is ready and willing to offer him up as the real problem in the Soviet Union, in order to exempt the communist system.

The quote was refuted in his adendum:
Writer's note: Partial retraction on my above commentary about Ed Asner:
In my WorldNetDaily column, I incorrectly quoted both myself and actor Edward Asner near the end of the column. The lack of accuracy occurred because I did not wait to review the audio of the media session in which Mr. Asner and I interacted. To date, I still have not personally reviewed the audio, but have made multiple good faith efforts to obtain it. I will not only review it upon receipt but also play the actual audio on my radio show so as to communicate the quote correctly in all formats.
Upon reflection, I should have waited for the original audio so as to quote the parties involved as accurately as possible. Fairness and truth are what I am in constant search of and, therefore, when I am wrong I should be the first to admit such shortcomings. I do apologize to Mr. Asner for use of the inaccurate quotes regarding Joseph Stalin.
What follows is what I have been told are the actual quotes on the audio recording:
McCullough: "If you could portray an historical biography and you had an unlimited budget, unlimited support cast and everything you could ask for, who would it be?"
Asner: "Well, you know something, they've played Hitler, nobody has ever really touched Stalin, it just occurred to me. It's not because I am a liberal or anything like that. Stalin is one big damn mystery, I wonder why nobody has tried it? Many people, you know, speak of the fact that he killed more people than Hitler why does nobody touch him? It's strange. So, and he was about my size, my height with a wig I probably could do it."
So did you get the quote from the article or from my posting? I DID have the text there but did not post it that way. I say this because even today I have experienced some delay in some of my posts appearing on FR (such that I can view my comments and see "#35 of 34" posts on a thread).
