FR POST OFFICE (post Christmas cards, greetings, messages to your fellow FReepers here)
12/5/04

Posted on 12/05/2004 7:58:58 AM PST by Liz

All of our longings, our hopes and dreams, are represented by the birth of the innocent babe in the manger, the Christ Child.

The Spirit of Christmas, and our spiritual renewal, was never more powerful than it is today, Christmas season 2004.

Christans are more united than ever, and that's a good thing, for Christians, and for the future of America.

Let's pass around the good cheer, and tap our keyboards as one, wishing one and all a very merry and sacred Christmas, and a prosperous and healthy New Year.

Even before Bethleham, God prepared a plan for all of you. His plan is eternal.

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!"
Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God. Galations 4:4-7

Blessings to you and your family!

Merry Christmas to you, Liz!

The Perfect Gift

Packages, packages and presents galore
I sometimes wonder ..
Is there anything left at the store?
There’s red ones and blue ones
With purple and pink
When the children see them
They’re open in a wink.

We spend hours and hours
Finding this gift and that
This color’s not right
Or that just not the right hat
The coat is too long
Or the sleeves are too short
And what was the name of that new toy …
A something, something “Fort”??

Some packages are wrapped
All fancy and frilly
Some packages just end up
Looking downright silly
The paper’s too gaudy
The ribbon’s too bright
But we fuss and we fiddle
To get each detail just right.

But GOD had a plan
Oh so many years ago
To bring us a gift
Just splendid to behold
The wrapping HE gave it
Was awesome to see
The paper was the whitest white
And pure as could be
To tie it together
The ribbon was red
To ever remind us
Of the blood HE had shed

GOD’s gift is just perfect
And without any fuss
HE called HIS name JESUS
And HE gave HIM for us.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY !!

Merry Christmas to all my friends here on FR.

Here's a heart-warming Christmas story of good deeds given and received:

A WONDROUS MYSTERY

Sometimes fact is more mysterious than fiction! The "Denver Post" printed an article December 23, 1981 about a stranger-than-fact event that occurred in Colorado.

Stan Sieczkowski heard in church about a Denver family facing a rather bleak Christmas holiday. Medical bills robbed them of any extras; they would not even have a tree.

So Stan and his son Jay determined to get them that tree. They headed up into the Colorado Rockies in the family pickup. However, the truck skidded off the icy road and hit a boulder that shattered the windshield. Jay was showered by glass slivers and suffered from shock and crash trauma. Stan was uninjured, though somewhat shaken.

Cars sped past that day -- maybe 200 of them. Only two stopped. A gentle, dark-haired woman took the boy into her car to comfort him while her husband and another man helped Stan move his truck off the road. Then they drove father and son to Stan's home and quietly left without identifying themselves.

Later that month, Stan's pastor asked if he might deliver a food basket to the unfortunate family for which he had earlier tried to cut a tree. Stan found the house, but he could hardly find his speech when the door opened. Standing there before him was the same couple who had helped him on the mountain road!

Call it an amazing coincidence...or call it divine providence. Some mysteries are better left unanalyzed. But it is nice to remember that, when we give our hearts away in a spirit of generosity, we can still brush up against wonder, joy and love.

May all my fellow freepers have a safe and happy holiday season.

I learned to take night pictures with my digital camera last year. This was my neighbor's window. I got lots of nice ones. I want Santa to bring me a digital slr with changeable lenses this Christmas but it is not in the budget.

Maybe next year. Like January lol.
