I just lost my beloved Wolfhound this morning. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma in October and was doing really well. He died of complications as a result of the chemo.
Jamie was the best dog in the world. I never even had to train him, he just always did what I asked him to do. He was one of those good natured protectors. You know the type, they didn't bark, they just got between you and whoever. Since he weighed 192 lbs nobody ever bothered to test him, they just kept their distance. You could take him anywhere, he had perfect manners. And he was so funny, he'd make you laugh until the tears streamed down your face.
He was my best friend, and my heart is broken.
I know it's too early to consider getting another dog- you need to grieve over this one, but after some time has passed, I hope you will get another one. There are so many animals in need of good loving homes like yours. There will never be another dog like the one you lost, but, you'll find that a new dog eases the pain of the loss greatly- I know this from personal experience.
so sorry for your loss.
Hugs to you.
I know how difficult it is to love that little bit extra, love them enough to let them go.
You have anguish at their loss and happiness that they no longer suffer.
It is so confusing.
My heart aches for the situation life has imposed on you. It's not right that their lives should be so short.
I good dog deserves 30-40 years.
Take your time on deciding on another dog.
Long or short, it will be the right choice.
Taz.
I hope he goes to Walhalla Wolfhound Heaven and can run around and enjoy himself for etertity.
This is Pastor Jim Marstaller and I just want to expand on the answer as to whether certain animals will be in heaven. Before Adam sinned there were animals on this earth. Therefore, I believe, in the new earth there will be animals. I do not know if there will be animals in the new heaven - as far as I know Scripture is silent on that issue.
I am convinced that there will be no more mourning, sorrow, etc. in heaven. 'If' it takes a certain animal to make you 'happy' in heaven that animal will be there. Please realize that Jesus is enough. He will have our attention, praise, and awe. In heaven there "shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain,..."
