No, but living on the street can be sweeter with $50,000 in your pocket.

Can Jay Sherman actually buy a home for $50,000? No but he can rent one of Bev Harris' motel rooms for a week
To: RightWhale
Barely, but he'll have to do without some of the basics, like an indoor heated pool, sauna, six-car garage, and helipad.

$50k for a home is reasonable in "fly-over country". Only the Left coast and NE liberal meccas would sneer at that figure.

Can Jay Sherman actually buy a home for $50,000? In Texas, yes. There are houses in Dallas (among other cities) that go for 60-80 thousand dollars. He has emough to put a big downpayment on one of those.
Or he can go the even cheaper route and get a mobile home.

Doesn't matter. He will burn through the money in a few months and be on the streets again.

He can get a nice one for around $80,000 around here. $30,000 down and payments (save 20K to live on). We'll get him a job.
