Pop quiz time: can you name the day that Julius Caesar was assassinated?
If you said March 15th, 44 BC, youre . an ignorant zealot! The correct date, as being taught in many History books, is March 15th, 44 BCE.
If this surprises you, dont worry, your kids will be taught the difference soon enough in school. You see, theres a problem with old dates: those letters at the end contain a little abbreviated baby Jesus. BC being Before Christ and AD being Anno Domini, Latin for Year of Our Lord. And for the anti-Christian Jihadis in Academia, any reference to God, however historical or incidental, has got to be plucked out of our culture root and branch.
So if religion is ever to be fully annihilated from our Brave New World, a new system of dating is required. The solution being promoted in academic circles the World over is the Common Era or CE system. CE is just like AD, except it is 100% God-free! Everything from 1 AD forward is now the Common Era, while everything before 1 AD is now Before the Common Era or BCE. Common, in this case, meaning vulgar -- which is, after all, what religion is to the elite.
No, this is not a parody. This is actually occurring, I swear. The disdain of the Worlds leftists for Christianity is so deep and consuming that a large number of otherwise intelligent people are systematically changing all the dates in History texts to read BCE and CE, rather than BC and AD, solely so they can pretend that the birth of Jesus Christ is not really the date that all the Western world measures time by.
If you read much Classical History, you will begin to see all sorts of familiar dates made safe for Godlessness. And the practice is becoming more common, ostensibly in the name of multiculturalism. I mean, why should a Bantu historian have to be assaulted with the dead white male D in AD every time he reads a Western text? Its indefensible!
Of course, for some reason not all Gods seem to offend the neotemporal censors equally. For example, no Western author seems particularly offended by the Muslim, Jewish or Buddhist calendars. And no one seems irretrievably disturbed by our Pagan weekdays (Sun day, Moon day, Tyrs day, Wodens day, Thors day, Freis day, and Saturns day). Likewise, January, March, and June (named for the Roman deities Janus, Mars, and Juno) are quite acceptable. No, theres just one problem with Thursday, March 15th, 44 BC.
So what do the Antichristians hope to accomplish with such a silly attack on a dating system they can never really change? They hope to undermine religion today by erasing it from the past. Why?
For those who would rule the Universe, God is the enemy. You see, He is immutable and -- disturbingly -- not subject to court order. Thus, He tends to impede social engineers and others who are in love with the supremacy of the Mind of Man. Obviously then, Hes got to be made to disappear.
The thing about killing God, however, is that Hes been around an awful long time -- perhaps even from the beginning of time. And in that time Hes snuck into an unimaginable number of places. But when your ambition is to reorder all civilization, the ubiquitous nature of that pest God is just a tiny challenge to you. Youll just have to step on that cockroach wherever you catch him. Whether you find him on a City Seal, at a public school, in a pesky Declaration of Independence, or just sleeping like a baby in a luminescent manger on the corner of St. James and Providence, God has got to go!
So until Liberals can actually change our society so much that the old dating system can be scrapped entirely and time measured from some more appropriate event, such as the birth of Barbara Streisand, the Roe v. Wade ruling, or the day Michael Moore first crested 300 pounds, theyll just have to settle for childishly crossing out the name of Christ in the current system.
Such petty denial of the past is not new, of course. In ancient Egypt, for example, a new pharaoh would occasionally come to power who so detested the old ruler that he would order the former Pharaoh erased from History. His statues would be destroyed, his documents burned, and a legion of stone cutters would be sent out to chisel his name from every obelisk, temple, and granary in the land. No mention of the old ruler was too small not to be destroyed, not even a single glyph marking the start of his reign. But in the end, such fear and hatred only showed how powerful the old king had been and how threatened the weak new Pharaoh felt by his memory.
Imagine how scared the new Pharaohs must be of a King that never dies.

thats an awesome article
No matter how you slice it, Jesus still split time in half :)
I'd say it's time that Leftists took some of their own medicine and respected diversity by stopping their constant assault on all things Christian.
Even the best of us will only turn our cheek so much.
The power of the Gospel is its own light of eternal truth, an demonstrable power of the living God to change our lives for the betterment of life and liberty.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD
Regards
After turning the cheek and we are provoked again, that's when we show the forgiveness seventy times seven. And I will be asking for forgiveness after each punch...
A good mnemonic for this would be BCE = Before Christian Era and CE=Christian Era.
Hehe
When your kid's teachers bring up BCE and CE, teach them that it really means Before Christ's Emancipation (of the world), and Christianity Emerged.
Since the start point, Year One, is still pegged at the birth of Christ it makes logical sense.
The global left will need to be more clever than that.
That's perfect. This should be the standard response: "BCE, you mean before the Christian Era??? I thought you were a scientist??"
Diversity is only a worthy of fighting for if Liberals agree. When you consider their utter disdain of Christianity, well discussed in the article above, you have to realize that they will never consider the Christians feelings with respect to "diversity".
According to them, "diversity" is whatever they say it is, and they hate Christianity.
Both excellent ideas!
This BCE crap has been out there for over a decade now in academia and believe it or not, it is not taken hold. Only the most ardent anti-Christian will hold students to saying BCE in their class and most of the teachers and professors prefer to us AD and BC. Its actually a good marker between old and new cultures.
I think that their recent realization that they are losing the cultural war (for many reasons including their sacrifice of their own progeny to material greed) has driven to utter loathing expressed through pathetic bile and hatred.
But for me, yes, I plan to spin it as Christian Era as much as possible. The truth is, what else could the start of 1 CE possibly refer to except for the birth of Jesus Christ?
These people are such pathetic losers.
Their hatred of Christianity is matched only by Islam's hate for these fools! This they will realize too late.
Ping for later reading
Secularist discrimination.
GREAT article!
And a favorite new quote....see tag......
I really, really, really like those.
Actually, I think they stand for Before Christian Era and Christian Era. Sounds OK to me ;)
