...the American military has intentionally used psychological and sometimes physical coercion "tantamount to torture" on prisoners at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. I certainly hope so!

Why is it only "tantamount to torture"?
Should be all-out, no doubts about it, full-blown, pedal to the metal, unbearable, spill your guts kind of torture.
To: wagglebee
... and sometimes physical coercion "tantamount to torture"... Awwwwww, what's the matter, guys? Looked and looked for torture, even anything that kind of looked like torture, and came up snake-eyes, eh? So you had to resort to this 'tantamount to torture' stuff? Gee whiz, what would the world do without Leftists masquerading as professional do-gooders?

I would be inclined to grant some level of credibility to the New York
Times and the IRC if and when they express a degree of concern for the victims of the
jihadi. Until then...piffle!

Only the powerful can be abusive! The poor downtrodden Islamofascists are too weak and pityful to be abusive! Hasn't the Main Stream Media taught you anything?

Hey NYT, here's your
PROOF in video form. I dare you to link to it on your page.
To: wagglebee
The organization reporting the abuses is the Red Cross and the organization reporting that report is the NYT. Enough said.
To: wagglebee
i'm fed up with the american media.
what we need is a full investigation of all journalists in this country. do unto them as they do unto others.
check their credit history, their traffic violations, divorces, extra-marital affairs, their college credentials, etc.

So... it's not "actually" torture. It's just really unpleasant to be there.
Well... dang me. I suppose anything short of Club Med would be "tantamount" to torture without *actually* being torture?
I've stayed in some hotels that were "tantamount" to torture... and I didn't see anybody from the Red Cross there...

LOL!
The IRC is a front for the U.N. Eurotrash and militant apologists.
It needs a thorough ignoring by the U.S.
It is worthless and harmful to our interests, wherever they may be.

The International Committee of the Red Cross, which is based in Geneva and is separate from the American Red Cross, was founded in 1863 as an independent, neutral organization intended to provide humanitarian protection and assistance for victims of war.And like a car in neutral, hasn't delivered a damn thing, while its "good" intentions continue to pave its highway to hell.

So the jist of the argument is that imprisoning terrorists is tauntamount to torture.
B*******
If the left is going to pull this, let us do the humane thing, summary execution for each and every captured terrorist.

So... it's not "actually" torture. It's just really unpleasant to be there. IIRC Weren't these jihadists living in CAVES when we got a hold of them. I guess as far as the Red Cross is concerned, delousing them is a form of "torture."
