Last night, I went to see "The Incredibles" in Century City, only, "The Incredibles" was sold out, so we saw "National Treasure" instead. It was REALLY GOOD, by the way. For anyone into American history, this was well done and interesting all the way through. Nick Cage looked good and the chick who played the main chick, Diane Kruger is VERY pretty.
Anyway, it turns out while my car was sitting in the Century City mall parking garage, some nut keyed one side of my car. Why? Could it be the "W '04" bumper sticker I still have on, since President Bush is the PRESIDENT and he WON?
Some of y'all might remember the post from August: "Dennis Prager Agrees to Put Bush/Cheney Sticker on His Lexus: LET'S ALL DO IT TODAY!!!"
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1194090/posts
It was on that day that I put the somewhat discreet "W" circle sticker on my car bumper. Up until last night, nothing had happened to my car.
I still see a LOT of Kerry/Edwards stickers on peoples cars and the "W" with the red line through it. Is anyone else still experiencing post-election liberal rage?
Add the bumper sticker that says "A person of diversity and tolerance keyed my car".
I advise refraining from using bumper stickers.
IMO, nobody is convinced by the messages they contain, and they just make the driver feel good.
I used to have some on my van, until my back window was broken by someone who didn't like the stickers.
Then you have idiots who key cars or think that they have the right to remove the stickers themselves. It's just not worth the trouble.
The liberals in California are among the worst in the country.
I was in line to vote in S. Florida in a middle to upper middle clas precinct. I arrived at 7 am as I am a "crawl over glass to vote Republican."
Some idiot yuppie with loafers, no socks jeans and slicked back hair had a t-shirt with Bush idiot or dunce something with a picture of Bush. I really want to pull the guy out of line and start wailing on him. I don't think he was really allowed to have a shirt like that.
I sort of calmly thought about how Bush was going to win. I felt pretty confident because the futures markets and ALL of the UK bookies said Bush was going to win. The London bookmakers are almost always right and far more accurate than Zogby.
I noticed that too. Quite frankly, I found it refreshing that CG felt at ease to use the term. "Chic" is derived from the Spanish "Chica", meaning simply "young girl". It is only derogatory to the insecure. CC has a lot of insecure "Chics".
That would have been poetic justice for sure.
Guarantee!! Ask any dem or union guy about this damage and they will automatically say (and with a straight face), "Oh, that must have been done by some Republican trying to make us look bad!" Guarantee!
Very sorry to hear about your car. But I agree with you that National Treasures is an excellent movie. My husband and I saw it, both loved it and I like it enough to want to go back and see it with my daughter. That's rare for me. We liked Alexander the Great too, but like NT more.
Wel here in Chappaqua..a few of the locals were giving out Hillary08 stickers...I'm considering putting it on UPSIDE DOWN..I'll escape any keying..they'll assume I'm handicapped...
They convince no one, and trash up the car, and risk stuff like this.
Learned this long ago.
When I was in high school during the election of '64 between Goldwater and Johnson, I put a Goldwater sticker on my Dad's car. He made me take it off with the following admonishment: "Buck, I am in business and half of my customers are probably Democrats. Do you want to chance offending half of our customers? We keep our politics at home". I've never forgot that. I do, however, contribute to my party, as my father recommended I should have done.
I have my NRA sticker among my Bush stickers too, maybe those libs really do think we are a bunch of homicidal maniacs and are afraid to provoke us. That alone is worth the price of membership.
Maybe the NRA should use that as a recruitment tool. " Cars with NRA stickers are rarely keyed."
Interesting. We ordered new stickers to put back on our car since we're seeing so many liberal sticker still around. No damage to the vehicle yet.
We saw National Treasure yesterday, and I agree... great movie! I'll need to see it again to catch all the subtle humor.
You are correct...I believe that is called "electioneering". Some clown here in New Hampshire walked into the voting area wearing a 'Kerry/Edwards' button, so I brought it to the attention of the powers that be. They made him REMOVE it on the spot. His silly smirk indicated that he had been thoroughly embarrassed in front of his Marxist comrades.
Almost forgot...it felt good. Real good.
I saw a possible mark the other day. After a car wash it didn't seem so bad. Maybe it's just an incidental scratch rather than a response to the four B/C or W stickers on the car. The last time I had my car seriously keyed was in the contract parking adjacent to the Pentagon in perhaps 1988. I was driving a turbocharged Chrysler Le Baron GTS at the time. Was it my car? Did I cut somebody off? There were no stickers. Some functional illiterate wrote "fock you" on my driver's door. Got it painted over for a reasonable price at my Chrysler dealer.
Boing, I mean bump!
Same thing happened to my car, same sticker, university parking garage.
" I don't know if this is related, but most of us have replaced our Bush/Cheney stickers with magnetic support our troops/God bless America ribbons "
I live in a red county in a red state.
Before the election , my wife commented that she was getting concerned because she did not see many Bush signs on cars.
But, she said she took solace from the many magnetic "Support the Troops " stickers on cars, as we assumed they were Bush voters who valued their paint job.
It's quite a commentary on the Democrat Party that we naturally assume that a car with a " Support the Troops " or " God Bless America " magnetic sticker could not possibly belong to a Democrat.
Just curious...... which side of the care did they key?.. Did you notice it upon returning from the theater? If so they have have it on a security camera tape...... good luck.
PS some scuffs if they don't break the paint can be buffed out and not be noticeable again....
