Dan Rather/CBS's attempt to influence the election through the use of fraudulent documents was exposed on www.FreeRepublic.com, the internet's premier conservative news forum. Within minutes of Rather's "news" broadcast, members of Free Republic started to dissect the story. Freepers Buckhead & TankerKC led the charge and quickly uncovered the bogus charges that the network was leveling against President Bush.
The spinning and stonewalling began immediately with a former executive Vice President of CBS news, Jonathan Klein, stating on Fox News that "You couldn't have a starker contrast between the multiple layers of checks and balances at 60 minutes and a guy sitting in his living room in his pajamas writing".
Mr. Klein could not have been more wrong. The fact of the matter is that FreeRepublic.com has over 150,000 registered members (called Freepers) from all walks of life; including, journalists! This variety of backgrounds plus the Freepers' knowledge of researching the internet combined with an ingrained skepticism and desire for truth telling far surpasses today's definition of journalism.
Freeper ForGod'sSake went to work on a graphic that he hoped would symbolize the new tag bestowed by Mr. Klein and thusly, the Pajama Patrol Badge was born. The badge was posted on relevant threads and received a warm response from many Freepers.
Another Freeper, Seeking the Truth, owner of the political satire website, 0cents.com, offered to produce the Pajama Patrol Badge Products and there are now several items available; Stamp Sheets, Tee Shirts, Mousepads, Coffee Mugs, Fridge Magnets, BBQ Aprons, Beer Steins, Magnetic Bumper Stickers, Oval Bumper Stickers
That's a good idea. :^)
Kewl! :))
Yeah...where are the pajamas??? LOL
Great idea folks...lets support this BIG TIME!!!!
'Howlin, every single one of these memos to file is in a proportionally spaced font, probably Palatino or Times New Roman. In 1972 people used typewriters for this sort of thing, and typewriters used monospaced fonts. The use of proportionally spaced fonts did not come into common use for office memos until the introduction of laser printers, word processing software, and personal computers. They were not widespread until the mid to late 90's. Before then, you needed typesetting equipment, and that wasn't used for personal memos to file. Even the Wang systems that were dominant in the mid 80's used monospaced fonts. I am saying these documents are forgeries, run through a copier for 15 generations to make them look old. This should be pursued aggressively. 47 posted on 09/08/2004 10:59:43 PM CDT by Buckhead'
Fantastic! I am going to order these for gifts! Brilliant design STT!
I like those stickers too. I am going to order them for my hubby and I, and maybe a few other people I happen to know!
Ping a ling
Love it. When will they be available for sale? I want one to pin on my official FR sweats.

For the record, the design is 100% ForGod'sSake!
I merely apply the image to the various products.
Best regards,
Hmmm, I wish I'd thought of that. In honor of Buckhead:

Tantalizing idea, especially for a cyberplaque. I'll work on that.

I think Seeking the Truth has studied an iron-on, but I'm not sure of the feasibility given his processes. A "real" badge, as it turns out, is almost prohibitively expensive. He may be working on an alternative of sorts. Did you check out the lanyard mounted "badge" in #106? Another possibility.
FGS
Soitainly!

You know we conservative Neanderthals can't write ;^)
FGS
Great. We can all easily download the badge image, then mount it.
As long as it's not for commercial use......go for it!
The only bad press for FR is no press, eh?
FGS
I assume FReepers will wear the badge in the privacy of their homes.....while at the keyboard surfing FR.....or maybe at FR conventions.
That's it? How about at the mall? I will wear the PJ badge articles anywhere people might be inclined to ask, "Whassat?". If you misunderstood my comment about commercial use it was concerning the sale of PJ badge stuff. That's Seeking the Truth's bailiwick right now. I "own" the design, but you're more than welcome to apply it in any way you choose for personal use.
