Top Democrat hires Kennedy stalwart

WASHINGTON - Jim Manley, a long-time top staffer in Sen. Edward M. Kennedy's press office, is leaving to head the newly created communications ``war room'' of the recently elected Senate Democratic leader, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.).
Manley, who spent the past 11 years as press secretary to Kennedy and the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, will now take on the title of staff director of the Senate Democratic Communications Center.
He will oversee a 15-member staff developing a message and communications strategy for Reid and the Senate Democratic caucus.
Sen. John F. Kerry [related, bio] was often criticized for failing to convey a clear message during his presidential campaign, but Reid said he will focus on reaching out even to ``red'' states.
``As the Democratic leader, I will ensure that all Americans - from my rural hometown of Searchlight (Nevada) to the nation's big cities - know the values and principles for which Democrats stand,'' Reid said.
``That is why I have formed an aggressive operation with the best talent in the country to spread the word and get the truth out,'' he said.
Manley will be returning to the same office in the Capitol where he began his career 13 years ago in the Senate, when he was assistant press secretary to then-Majority Leader George Mitchell (D-Maine).
``I can't begin to describe how much that I've appreciated the chance to work for Sen. Kennedy for the past 11 years, and how much I've learned from him, and how much I admire and respect all that he stands for,'' Manley said.

``Working for the senator has been a privilege and an honor that I will cherish forever.''
Phil Singer, a spokesman for the Kerry-Edwards campaign, will join Manley as communications director in Reid's new office, handling rapid response.

I thought Kerry did a find job and sent out a clear message. He was a liar, a flip flop, a fraud, a phony, arrogant elitist liberal and a war criminal who was hell bent on selling out the nation to a bunch of crooks in Europe. Oh yea, he was a war hero-to the communists in Nam.

"They will never learn"

Yep, they will not. But right now it is working in our favor! I cannot believe that they think moral values neccisarily means being a born again Christian. Maybe it is indirectly, but Jeeze.

"War room"?

How absolutely romantic.

More like a butcher shop perhaps?

This is the same Reid that the MSM tells us is moderate, or even conservative.

Yep, "war room" shows us just what we're in for during the next four years.

Time to enlist the Viking Kitties into a combat ready reserve.

"Yep, "war room" shows us just what we're in for during the next four years ..."

Of course the Dimocrats will settle down, in months to come, put on chameleon suits and play act "middle of the roaders", but for the immediate future they will be busy hacking up dead bodies like Kerry, Dean and McAuliffe, much like the Mafia did in the movie Donnie Brasco. ;)
