Florida Northwest? (John Fund On The Democrats Looking To Steal Another WA State Governorship Alert)
Opinionjournal.com ^ | 11/29/04 | John Fund

But is it? It certainly isn't more precise, as the fiasco of Florida's chad counting proved in 2000. "When you're talking about close to 900,000 pieces of paper, I think the machine count is going to be more accurate than a manual count," Dean Logan, the elections director of King County and a Democrat, admitted to reporters. "Every time you have human judgment and frailty enter into the process it will change the result," agrees Bruce Chapman, a Republican who served as Washington's secretary of state before becoming director of the U.S. census in the 1980s. In an interview, he said a hand recount will likely result in bitter litigation that will see the courts intervene to settle the dispute. John Carlson, a Seattle talk show host who was the GOP nominee for governor in 2000, worries that "this state's reputation for clean government may not survive the bitter struggle that appears about to begin."

Its a donnybrook in the Evergreen State. And the Democrats' bid to steal GOP gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi's win is about to begin. Its going to get thick, fast and ugly. John Fund's look at the Florida Of The Pacific Northwest.

I wonder if the GOP needs to go obviously, but not publically, steal an election to get the Dims to sign on to serious safeguards on elections. If it is only Dims who will steal an election, then Dim legislator have an incentive to keep it easy to steal an election.

Of course there is the irony that the DUmmies all think Bush has stolen the last two presidential elections when in fact what happened was that Dims in Dim counties in FL in 2000 failed to steal it, but not for lack of trying.

Time for the GOP to grab ankles again for the Dimwits. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is SOP. I continue to be amazed at how the Dimwits play for blood while the GOP pretend politics is a gentleman's game of chess.

Democrats spent the next three days knocking on doors and speed-dialing voters. Ryan Bianchi, communications assistant for Ms. Gregoire, made it clear how blatantly partisan the approach was. Democratic volunteers asked if voters had cast ballots for Ms. Gregoire. "If they say no, we just tell them to have a nice day," he told the Seattle Times. Only if they say yes, did the Democrats ask if they want to make their ballot valid.

Here I live in Washington state, and it wasn't until this story by east-coast columnist John Fund that I found out the truth. The liberals at Northwest Cable News have been intentionally vague on this point, not wanting to point out how hypocritical their Democrat cronies are when they falsely claim they want every vote counted.

The truth is Democrats want illegal aliens' votes to count, convicted felons' votes to count, but GOP voters can just "have a nice day."

The worst part is that they have destroyed any record of the truth in King County, as they have been physically altering ballots (filling in the circle for Gregoire.) Even if it felt there was "voter intent", King County could have counted those ballots for Gregoire manually, without altering them.

Now, even if the Republicans force an honest recount, the damage has already been done.

You'd just have to have your people show up at like 7 am and vote under all the fraudulent identities the dems have on the rolls...

Well it would have to be done in such a way that it was clear but not prosecutable. It would need to be a small race, just to show that two could play this game? One would have to take advantage of the ways the laws are weak.

Of course there is the irony that the DUmmies all think Bush has stolen the last two presidential elections when in fact what happened was that Dims in Dim counties in FL in 2000 failed to steal it, but not for lack of trying.

The PROOF that the dems (at least not the far-left, deranged fringe ones) know that Bush didn't steal any elections and are only pretending that he's done so is the fact that they aren't screaming for voter-fraud legislation so republicans can't "steal" anymore future elections. Not unless they think they can "outsteal" us?

I agree. By now, Republicans are fully aware that Democrats will try to steal elections. And (hopefully) there will be sufficient activists present at all precincts during any recount to stop any attempted theft.

What is the Washington law regarding that?

If they are actually altering ballots, and if Washington law does not allow that - (or in in fact, even if it does), the election could end up in the Supreme Court. (THAT ought to get the Demonrats howling like a bad second-gear synchro...).

My sincere hope is that Rossi ends up winning by 14 votes, because THAT will cause the Demonrats to wail like a steam-driven fire siren. (Note that in my cantankerous state, I place the howlfulness of the solution above the interest of the body politic... I apologize, but I just can't help myself.)

Right it is only the fringe who believes anything about the GOP stealing elections. The Dim regulars know what punch cards are for.

This story should needs more National attention! How can this be anything but an embarrassment to Gregoire and the Libs?

In Seattle's King County alone the vote counting so far has featured such anomalies as 10,000 ballots being mysteriously discovered nearly two weeks after Election Day, election officials "enhancing" hundreds of unreadable optical-scan ballots, and a judge allowing political partisans to selectively track down voters who cast questionable provisional ballots to see if they could turn them into valid votes.

Put the spotlight on these cheating cockroaches! Every vote counts, as long as it isn't a vote for Dino Rossi.

I'm glad you posted this article but think you should have highlighted more of the obvious fraud going on. I wish some people were facing criminal charges. King county, very appropriate name isn't it?

The Seattle leftists are doing the same thing to the WA govenor's race that the communists did to the presidential election in the Ukraine.
