Finally there's a political figure on the national scene who's making sense on the key issues of illegal immigration and border security.
Unfortunately, it's Hillary Clinton.
At the recent opening of the Clinton Library in Arkansas, Hillary told a TV interviewer that the U.S. needs to toughen up its border security.

Oh she's just making her play for the Dem nomination in 2008. Clinton had told Kerry to move more towards the middle but he didn't listen so now he's giving Hillary advice. She's been sitting back and watching the Repubs and seeing what their big issues are and she is trying to play to us.
This would be great huh? That is if you could believe a single word that came out of her mouth. Which you can't.
Hillary is just brown-nosing for votes.
so she's making a play by introducing LOGICAL and SAME legislation for a change....
Let's take advantage of her "change of heart". If the so-called "republicans" refuse to introduce legislation that will protect us, lower taxes, dismantle the NEA and ither totally useless organizations, I will gladly support THOSE WHO DO!
Who would believe ANYTHING that mean and nasty, vicious, lying, control-freak bitch has to say?
The President is on the wrong side in regard to guest workers.
Exactly. She's trying to pull the wool over the eyes and ears of the Red states/ Flyover country.
hehehe....sorry, hill, it won't work!
ps ... I did NOT read the article yet - the comments are written to the KNEE-JERK negative reactions
I may end up agreeing with the above posters, but WHERE are the so-called "republicans" who are supposed to be upholding the core values of America?
Counting their cash alongside the democrats?
It is a typical rough Mulshine column. I agree with him.
GWB's "hispandering" (brown nosing) worked for him.....maybe she's taking a lesson from the best.
Whether it's only a stop-gap OR part of a longer-term solution, IDENTIFYING illegals and keeping them from voting is the first huge challenge -- and a MUST; even after the welfare-state (which attracts the moocher-types) is disassembled.
I'm TOTALLY AGAINST guest worker drivers' licenses or I.D. cards UNLESS they LOOK TOTALLY DIFFERENT from real citizens' licenses and THEY MUST SAY IN BIG BOLD LETTERS:
Search THOROUGHLY at ALL border and transportation checkpoints. > MAY NOT VOTE. < MAY NOT RECEIVE FOOD STAMPS OR OTHER WELFARE. MAY NOT RECEIVE FREE NON-EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE. NOTIFY THE INS IF THE SPONSORING EMPLOYER OR ADDRESS IS WRONG OR IF CONVICTED OF A FELONY. |
( PLEASE consider PRINTING THIS OUT AND SNAIL-MAILING IT TO YOUR CONGRESSMAN AND SENATORS. THANK YOU. )
Reviewing the actual quote from Hitlery, she was using the infamous Clintoon "triangulation" strategy. Which means basically to take an existing Republican stance and adopt it as your own.
In Hitlery's statement, her 4 or 5 actual policy prescriptions were (a) already being addressed by the White House or (b) so vague as to be useless.
Hillary will win in the NY State Senate race without my help and I refuse to support her for president even if she ordered our troops to go on the borders to protect us. I will not have that witch in power.
That is EXACTLY what she is doing. We've seen the Clintons and how they work before.
Right before the election I talked to my boss, an inteligent and well informed person, about who he was going to vote for. He said Bush, then he went on to say that he made up his mind during the VP debates when Edwards claim that Steve Reeves would get up and walk if Kerry were elected.
My point being that in 2008 Hillary will have has 3 years to reinvent herself. And she is taking advantage of that fact by moving right fast. The GOP on the other hand is moving left fast. On issue after issue Hillary and the democrats will be to the right of the GOP!!!! It is mind boggling to watch the GOP throw conservative issues into the eager hands of the democrats but they are doing it.
Federal spending
Open borders
Insane trade policy

The GOP looks more like the democrats everyday and the smart democrats are looking more and more conservative every day. If this keeps up the GOP can kiss conservative voters good-bye.
Absolutely! Bush had better not underestimate how important this issue is to all Americans and not just to Latinos or to border state Americans.
If it is perceived that Bush is allowing lax border security as a way to appease the Latino vote or for any other reason, then the Republicans just handed Hitlery an issue she can run with. National security starts with the border.
