(straps on asbestos underwear)
(dons fireproof NASCAR suit and helmet)
(hoses self down with fire retardant foam)

Bump to that. There MUST be more than just this hype from the Christian side. At the VERY least, there must be a history of the teacher proselytizing in class.

If the principal simply nixed a lesson plan that contained the Declaration of Independence, I would hardly call that "Banning the Declaration of Independence".

How about nixing the Declaration of Independence, would you call it that? You just did!

I see that the schools have enshrined Athism as the new State religion. Only revisionist History is allowed.

How much does it cost per student to teach fairy tales as history? Why is this fee mandatory? If I wanted to teach my children Holly Weird History, I could just send them to the movies for a massive cost savings.

What they learn there would be no more relevant than what they are learning in the goobermint schools.

Would the last real American in California please turn off the lights when you leave?

I did, but corruption and mushrooms grows better in the dark. What we need is the remaining true Americans to turn up the lights.

The lunacy of this almost {but not quite} leaves me speechless. Take away moral absolutes and give man free rein to do whatever he/she thinks is right, and insanity becomes the new norm.

It is up to us to keep it from happening. We have people in Iraq fighting for America and we can't let them down. We have to keep America what She is so The Best of the Best will have America to come home too. The ACLU has to be defeated. God Bless America and all who have and will continue to defend Her.

OK, let me make my point by example:

Let's say a Wiccan teacher decided to teach his/her 5th graders that the Founding Fathers were "obviously Pagan" because they used the phrase "Nature's God" in the Declaration of Independence.

As part of the lesson plan, the teacher distributes copies of the document.

The principal rightly says.... "No!" to the lesson plan.

By the logic you just used, the principal has "nixed" the Declaration.

We do not know the facts. I will continue to wait before making a judgment.

Let me add, I will gladly bet $5 bucks and a case of beer (or diet coke, if you prefer) that the Declaration of Independence *is* taught in the school, just not the way that this one teacher wants to use it.

If I am wrong, name your brand.

Something does not pass the smell test with this one.

Without the Declaration of Independence...there really isn't any reason to teach government or civics in high school...and you might as well drop American History.

Agreed. Two thousand years from now, America will be just a memory, a historical reference learned at whatever schools exist at that time. I'll bet you some serious money though, that if the students are free men and women, that the Declaration of Indepencence and Constitution will be documents that will be studied. Both were, IMO, inspired by the Almighty Father to show us the way.

From the article, it looks like this fellow is a heck of a teacher. Wish I had someone like that teaching my kids.

I've wanted to teach a course on the Origins of the American Revolution for some time. I'd spend the first 3 months covering nothing but John Locke, Thomas Paine, and other gentlemen without whom this nation would not have been possible.

What an excellent letter. Like a stileto it hits the target. A beauty to read.

BTW, I like your tagline.

If regular people accepted the fact that some people have chosed to actually be evil, things might get better.

Maybe people in general think that in order to be evil, there have to fangs, leathery skin, warts, claws, and green drool.

There are plenty that look like that in Santa Cruz.

So do we. Homeschool too.

They are exactly (and proudly) what their Darwinian beliefs dictate: They are animals.
