If the principal simply nixed a lesson plan that contained the Declaration of Independence, I would hardly call that "Banning the Declaration of Independence".How about nixing the Declaration of Independence, would you call it that? You just did!

OK, let me make my point by example:
Let's say a Wiccan teacher decided to teach his/her 5th graders that the Founding Fathers were "obviously Pagan" because they used the phrase "Nature's God" in the Declaration of Independence.
As part of the lesson plan, the teacher distributes copies of the document.
The principal rightly says.... "No!" to the lesson plan.
By the logic you just used, the principal has "nixed" the Declaration.
We do not know the facts. I will continue to wait before making a judgment.

Let me add, I will gladly bet $5 bucks and a case of beer (or diet coke, if you prefer) that the Declaration of Independence *is* taught in the school, just not the way that this one teacher wants to use it.
If I am wrong, name your brand.
Something does not pass the smell test with this one.
