Thanksgiving Peace and Pictures
AP | 11/23/2004 | Chris Davis

As I begin to write my Thanksgiving piece, it occurred to me how much I hadn’t taken time to be thankful for so many things. So I sat down and wrote a list of everything I could think of. It became apparent that I wasn’t about to use all of this in a Thanksgiving piece. I quickly scratched things out until I got to the things I cared about the most. I pay homage to almighty God for these things that I’m truly thankful for:

1.My lovely, courageous, dedicated wife, Karol: With her support and inspiration, I can achieve anything I want. She is a miraculous, loving woman whom I’ll cherish for the remainder of my life. Without her, I would be lost and lonely.

2.My family: For their loving support and admiration over the years. For giving me my identity, and raising me in Texas, the greatest state in the Union, bar none. My thoughts and prayers go with them this Thanksgiving.

3.Being a conservative: If not for Rush Limbaugh, I would probably still be wallowing in the liberal mire, complaining about how Bush is still illegitimate, and how Halliburton is wrecking America. I am forever grateful for transitioning to open arms on the right.

4.Rush Limbaugh: He has galvanized the conservative movement, founded the new media, and is wrecking the grasp of socialism in America. He has succeeded in transforming talk radio throughout the country with his dedication and love of conservatism. Rush Limbaugh is indeed “The Passion.”

5.Sean Hannity: For his dedication to conservatism, his tireless campaigning for President Bush, and his devotion to his wife, his children, and God. For never forgetting where he comes from. Long Island, NY. May he have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

6.Ann Coulter: For her wit, class, intelligence, and merciless articles in helping to defeat liberalism. She is a strong conservative woman and outstanding example for the female gender.

7.Chron Watch, Men’s News Daily, MichNews, National Review, and other conservative outlets for advancing the conservative agenda in America and aiding the new media. Without their help, we would still be stuck with liberal print journalism. For giving me an opportunity to expose my writing to a wide audience, otherwise inaccessible to conservative writers.

8.Free Republic: Without this forum, I may have never got off the ground. It is a special forum with special people that I consider an extended family. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving, and for them I am truly thankful. Free Republic has some of the finest minds I’ll ever know. Thank you, Jim Robinson. You’re an amazing man.

They are amazing people that could’ve fired me at anytime but didn’t. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for being inspirational Americans. For being great Americans, supporting our troops, and being some of the kindest people I’ve ever known.

10.President George W. Bush: Since his reelection, air travel has reached some of the highest levels ever since before September 11th. I thank him for protecting, preserving, and defending the U.S. Constitution and the American people. May he have a wonderful Thanksgiving with his family.

11.The men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces: The U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard have performed an admirable, honorable, and courageous effort in making this country safer. I salute their efforts and wish each and every one of them a Happy Thanksgiving and a safe return home.

I’ve pasted pictures below in support of those fine Americans. Thank you for your service to your country. I am truly thankful for you. My prayers go out to you on Thanksgiving.

As you view these pictures, what are you truly thankful for?

"So! Youz gonna "write me off", eh??
Well, we'll soon put an end to THAT!!

1-800 Law Suit!!!!"

That figures. It's you rich, greedy conservative people that are keeping poor, struggling writers like me from keeping my head above water. Where is the Rainbow Coalition when you need 'em?

You disgust me!!!!! :)Hehe!

Your list and pics were great...

Look at the above picture and see the scorch marks above the door and windows. While I am so happy our guys weren't in that particular inferno, the poor Iraqis trying to build a new country sure don't deserve such a fate...may God give them and us the resolve to see this through to a quick and beneficial conclusion.

P.S. - Please add one more to your list to be Thankful for;

that we don't have Teresa to kick us around for four years.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too. This year has been amazing with the significant changes that occurred. According to Pastor John Hagee out of Cornerstone Church in Texas--we are truly blessed and beloved of God.

Happy Turkey Day, Writer!

Nice and warm here in sunny Florida. Took a sun bath on the patio today, heehee. The couple next door is having a few neighbors over for Thanksgiving dinner so I don't have to cook. So I can take another sun bath tomorrow afternoon, heehee.

(the reason I say heehee is because I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and it's really cold up there now. It's always cold up there on Thanksgiving. That's why we say heehee here in Florida instead of gobble, gobble).

Leni,

Not to bad here in Carson City, NV. About 50 degrees here. That's pretty warm for Thanksgiving. Don't get a sunburn down there. That would be just terrible if you sat out in the warm sun too long. I'd just hate that. :)

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Chris

Happy Thanksgiving to you and all FReepers.

This year I am thankful that my family is safe and healthy and most of them living nearby. I am especially thankful for my precious twin grandsons who I adore. I am thankful that I have been married to the same wonderful man for 35 years.

I am thankful that President Bush got reelected and that we have a Republican majority. Last, but far from least, I am truly thankful for FreeRepublic and all the comfort and pleasure I get from my fellow FReepers.

We're supposed to receive comfort from FReepers? Now I know what I'm doing wrong. :)

Thank you. And I agree.
