Who is stupid enough to give his or her actual IQ information to a pollster?

Isn't 130 considered very high? 230 and I'd think you should be selling your eggs.

"...average IQ of a Bush Voter is 101.6 and that of a Kerry voter is 98.1."

I don't think the difference, if it is real, is significant, statistically

I would be willing to take a supervised IQ test with a group of DUers any day. With half my brain tied behind my back. And just for full disclosure, I am "latino".

That wasn't their methodology, and in fact their methodology is essentially worthless.

Nonetheless, it is known that with rising educational levels people are more likely to vote Republican, through the master's degree level. However, acquiring a Ph.D. is a major risk factor in voting Democrat.

I would attribute this to the large number of Ph.D's in education, government employment or other more or less statist professions. Those who value credentials over experience or performance look to the statist party to preserve the status quo favoring their paper credentials.

Bogus.

Usually this bogus junk comes from the left. We should still call foul when it appears to favor the right.

In this case, as near as I can tell the creator of the table reasons like so: 58% of whites voted for Bush, the average white IQ is 103, so that's 58% x 103 IQ points to add to Bush's total IQ points column... He does this for all the races, divides by 100%, and thus gets a weighted average IQ.

The problem is that this ignores variations *within* the races. Suppose all the smartest white people voted for Kerry? This analysis misses that. Essentially (and this is rather ironic) it pretends that within each race there is no difference in average IQ between Bush voters and Kerry voters! To reach a conclusion that Bush voters overall have a higher IQ!

Examine the no-bias-within-race assumption, go through the math, and you can see that this calculation is just an artifact of the ethnic breakdown of voters.

It's bogus.

" What is really sad about this is that it shows the average IQ in the US is around 100."

LOL That's the best line I've heard all week.

Well, since you are talking about a 3.5 point shift in the center of the bell curve median, yes it is quite significant. If you hang on I'll try to figure out how significant and get back to you.

If I recall correctly, this is by design.

I'm appalled that the average IQs as calculated from SAT ACT scores are so low overall...but it's STILL hysterical that the IQ of the average Democrat voter is slightly less than body temperature!

New tagline alert...

This analysis is trash. Where did the IQ by race originate? Aryan Nation?

Besides, given that about half of the nation voted, is it really legitimate to assume that Aryan Nation's racial IQs properly reflect those who actually voted?
<<<<<<<<<<,,,,,

I hate to tell you but these average IQ figures by race are readily available, and accurate for whatever reason.

I'm disappointed to see that the Asian community broke for Kerry they should not only be smarter than that, they should also be wiser than that. I know I am. Perhaps it was the idiotic younger asian generation.
