According to WTMJ-Am radio news, the hunter accused of killing six hunters is now claiming he was shot at first. He is saying he left property the first time he was asked and the other hunters followed him, surrounded him, called him racial and other names, and shot at him first.
I'm surprised it didn't. Them SKS's look pretty nasty ya know. And that's what makes an 'assault' weapon nowadays.
No way. "they called me names and wanted me to leave so I shot EIGHT of them? Including a woman and child? Several minutes apart? (at least several minute because the ones shot *called* for help, as I understand it, and the help was shot while coming.)
I've heard some nasty news stories about Hmong deer hunters. Which is worse? I have also heard they don't really catch on (or refuse to catch on) to the idea of private property. People accuse Americans of being trigger-happy cowboys protecting their turf, well qpparently the Hmong are more gung-ho gun-totin' cowboys.
If this is a symptom of their attitude, I'm betting we just aren't *hearing* the slurs they call us, because we don't speak their language.
He should run for President!
yeesh. Thanks for your post. I don't doubt any of it!
Depends on how Wisconsin's laws and jurisprudence define "premeditated". I thought it was interesting that this guy stopped and removed the telescopic sight from his rifle (according to a report I read this morning), before opening fire on the other hunters. That pause might be enough to kick the charge up to 1st Degree Murder, or whatever Wisconsin calls it.
What do you mean take his word for it? He brutally murdered 6 people, wounding others.
You seem very quick to believe or imply that a mass murderer may have some kind of excuse for his actions.
I've heard some pretty nasty comments about Hmongs around St. Paul, so it's not out of the realm of possibility, I suppose.
Uh huh....Sure.
Assuming that this had nothing to do about racism, then what the hell was this about. Fact is, it is hard to comprehend what caused this and racism is as good a guess as any.
My guess would be they were killed by someone that has *no* value for human life, and anyone that may have been near this individual in the past, was in extreme danger.
In the old days an angry mob would have drug him out and hung him by now.
Wow... I can now see why Thailand refused to grant the Hmong anything beyond "temporary refugee" status. We should've been similarly cautious, but NOOoooooo....
The only thing that to me seems really strange is that why would this guy, who is from MN I believe, drive to WI and get and have in his possession a valid hunting permit only then to go on a killing spree?
If all he was going to do was trespass anyway and hunt, why the permit?
There is more to the story I think, at least when you consider that the guy (Vang) actually went through the trouble of obtaining a permit to hunt.
What if the first guy that got shot fired first at Vang and missed? If I was Vang, I'd be hightailing it out of there and if I heard a bunch of this guys buds behind me, what's to keep Vang from thinking that they might try to kill him too?
If Vang was clearly in the wrong, wouldn't he want to KILL EVERYONE who saw him, i.e. leave no witnesses?
I don't believe Vang in total, but something does not pass the smell test...
And don't forget the emergency personal. They may well have come to the scene to kill him as well.
Indeed. Well, I'm sure the Aryan Brotherhood will be looking forward to his arrival at Wisconsin State Prison.
The people on this forum defending this man in the guise of "diversity" are plain off their rockers. It seems they are stuck using the phrase "hard working" over and over, but they never mention at what they are hard working at.
Here's a link to the PDF of the criminal complaint.

It's a little tough to read, as in, it's of poor quality. Well worth to time to go through it.
Look. The guy shot 6 people. If they had been shooting at him, they would have been ready to shoot and not stood there and got slaughtered. He's lying.
"What do you mean take his word for it? "
Do you bother to actually READ the words? I did not say we had to TAKE his word. I said we would only HAVE his word.
Big difference.
And if you don't think some people call the Hmong residents of the Twin Cities bad names, you're dreaming. It happens all the time.
That does not excuse this man, and I have never suggested otherwise.
Please read my words as carefully as I write them!

Crying racism is a tool of the extreme left, used, or once used quite effectivly. Most nowadays can see through this utter bull crap. They've worn the tool out.
I believe it. I think they did call him a racial name. But that would not be enough to kill them.
Same thing that happened at the basketball brawl. When the white guy threw that beer it was like an insult that was ten times greater than anyone else throwing it.
