According to WTMJ-Am radio news, the hunter accused of killing six hunters is now claiming he was shot at first. He is saying he left property the first time he was asked and the other hunters followed him, surrounded him, called him racial and other names, and shot at him first.
Never know .. he apparently is a father of some 6 kids and being born in Michigan, I know what some of these upper 'all white' states think of 'foreigners' ... wouldn't be surprised in the least. Evidence would be the problem though since the two survivors will obviously not be on his side.
I can wait until all the info is out on this.
great. Just like the lib caller on talk radio who blamed the people who were shot. To paraphrase, he said "I know how white people are, and they probably made racial comments that caused him to start shooting".

You're right that there's an outside chance his side of the story has merit but on the whole, I won't believe him until more comes out about it.
Wow....this doesn't surprise me. The "assault weapon" hype didn't stick. So they're spinning up the racism angle. The're so predictable.
I don't know about any "lib caller", as I am just commenting on what he is now claiming as his defense.
More will come out- this is what he's telling the cops so far and the news outlet is running with that. I wouldn't post it unless I heard it from a news source.
His comments indicate he has had time to talk with his court appointed attorney.

I suppose it's possible. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Problem is, the folks that he's talking about are dead, or at least most of 'em are. So we may just have Vang's word for it.
I've heard some pretty nasty comments about Hmongs around St. Paul, so it's not out of the realm of possibility, I suppose.
That doesn't explain the trail of bodies by any stretch of the imagination!

I'd never for a second say that these victims were beyond calling someone racial or other names, especially someone trespassing on their property. I just doubt that whatever they did was a sufficient excuse for Vang to shoot them.
That's like saying a guy committed suicide by beating himself to death.

He's lying. If that was the case there wouldn't have been 6 of them dead. He may have gotten two before they got him but he wouldn't have gotten all 6.

I was deathly afraid one morning in a duck blind that something very bad was going down. We were in a blind my friend had built on public land. Just because you built it it is still first come first serve on public land. We got in the blind and someone had been there the previous day and left their heater. Well they showed up and tried to throw us out of the blind. I thought it was going to come to gunplay and felt awful lonely out there. Some people don't need to have guns. It was plain scary sitting there "on go" praying that they just ran their mouths about shooting and didn't try to go for their guns. They had me scared enough to shoot.
according to the local news there was only one gun amongst all eight "White people" - if they want to make it about race, fine...
Also according to local news -the bodies were spread out in a roughly 100 yard area. So, if this was self defense -The Hmong must have shot the white guy with the gun - who then (as he's falling dead) throws it to his white guy budy - who then shoots at this Hmong (it's about race remember) who then shoots that white guy - who then throws the gun to his other white guy buddy...
