Never know .. he apparently is a father of some 6 kids and being born in Michigan, I know what some of these upper 'all white' states think of 'foreigners' ... wouldn't be surprised in the least. Evidence would be the problem though since the two survivors will obviously not be on his side.

Easily disputed when they test the only gun the victims had with them.
Typical BS, I'm surprised it took this long.

Wow....this doesn't surprise me. The "assault weapon" hype didn't stick. So they're spinning up the racism angle. The're so predictable.

His comments indicate he has had time to talk with his court appointed attorney.

I suppose it's possible. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Problem is, the folks that he's talking about are dead, or at least most of 'em are. So we may just have Vang's word for it.

I've heard some pretty nasty comments about Hmongs around St. Paul, so it's not out of the realm of possibility, I suppose.

He's lying. If that was the case there wouldn't have been 6 of them dead. He may have gotten two before they got him but he wouldn't have gotten all 6.

Hang him.

He might have shot the first two if they had shot at them but eight??? That doesn't pass the smell test. I have heard of some people shooting over someones head to make a point. If that was the case he had a right to get the first two.

I was deathly afraid one morning in a duck blind that something very bad was going down. We were in a blind my friend had built on public land. Just because you built it it is still first come first serve on public land. We got in the blind and someone had been there the previous day and left their heater. Well they showed up and tried to throw us out of the blind. I thought it was going to come to gunplay and felt awful lonely out there. Some people don't need to have guns. It was plain scary sitting there "on go" praying that they just ran their mouths about shooting and didn't try to go for their guns. They had me scared enough to shoot.

who the hell cares?

There're those around here who think being p*ssed off is a excuse enough to kill somebody. They're over on another thread excusing some woman for shooting her husband in the back. Makes me sick.

According to WTMJ-Am radio news, the hunter accused of killing six hunters is now claiming he was shot at first. He is saying he left property the first time he was asked and the other hunters followed him, surrounded him, called him racial and other names, and shot at him first.

Maybe or probably.

He still went over the edge and will have to face the consequences.

If he meted out some frontier justice, part of it is paying for it.

Doesn't pass the smell test, IMO. Wait and see what develops.

Yeah, right. Now way this guy gets off on self-defense. It's either the maximum penalty for multiple second-degree murders (it hardly seems premeditated), or he mounts a defense based on some sort of post-traumatic stress disorder resulting from maltreatment by the communists in Laos in his youth--assuming he spent his youth in Laos--and goes to a psych ward for a very long time.

The Chicago papers are reporting the race-card angle within the sixth or seventh paragraph of each story, the MSM is truly pathetic.

Hi All-

Some seem to be saying how "unreasonable" it is for the hunting party to be without multiple guns at the time they became shooting victims.

Maybe they were scouting where they were going to set-up the next morning. Perhaps it was only two minutes from where their campsite/lodge was positioned and they didn't feel like shouldering a weapon to simply go talk to a guy about the location of his treestand. No matter what, Vang should recognize he wasn't on public property and should have peacefully moved to where he was permitted to hunt.

Using a racial altercation...how utterly predictable is that pathetic stunt? That must be in some nifty leather-bound trial lawyer playbook when they have a sociopathic client to defend.

The killer (Vang) faced three separate groups.

First the two that asked him to leave the property. One was armed the other was not. Both were shot. This confrontation could go either way, all three are still alive so we will hear both sides of the story.

The second group came to assist the first, and for some strange reason came unarmed (WTF) all were shot and killed. This is a no brainer if the facts hold, cold blooded murder.

The last and third group came to try and rescue those shot in 1 & 2 and also came unarmed (hard to believe, very hard to believe) and again if the facts hold again cold blooded murder.

When Vang was arrested he was out of amo, this is a pretty good indecation that he in a killing field and only stopped when he was no longer capable of killing. Maybe he was provoked in confrontation 1, but provoked to the point of murdering 8 in three separate instances? 7 of whom were unarmed? One would have to believe that all 8 charged him, threatening his life and that he was down to his last bullet when the final attack occurred. Selling that defense is not going to be easy.
