HOW scary that we've bred - or imported - so many people so angered by Christmas that we no longer dare use the word in public. But why do we cave in to them so easily?
Last year, for example, Stonnington Council dropped the word "Christmas" from its Christmas celebrations and even banned a minister from quoting the Bible while speaking at a carols night. Why? Would he have provoked some enraged carol singer to attack him?
This year a Deer Park childcare centre scrapped its usual Christmas party, replacing it with an "inclusive" fairytale one.
Meanwhile, schools cancel nativity plays, businesses avoid the "C" word and send "Season's Greetings" cards instead, and city stores give no hint that their tinsel has anything to do with you know what.
What is odd is that this vandalism - or what the United Nations would call "cultural genocide" - is done in the name of "tolerance", as approved by our multicultural commissars, when it actually shows an intolerance that's manic.
These bans on Christmas would sadden far, far more people than they pleased - and probably nicer people. Is that fair?
Worse, these bans breed intolerance, by rewarding the fury of people who cannot watch indulgently as fellow citizens publicly celebrate something good that means much to them and this country.
When I lived in Hong Kong, I managed to enjoy Chinese festivals without ever getting cross with Confucius. I lived in Thailand without feeling so alienated by Buddhism that I had to gag a monk.
Is it really too much to demand a little such tolerance here from the heathens who hate Christmas?
It annoys me to hear people refer to Christmas as "the holidays". If they can't recognize the reason for the holiday, they shouldn't take it.
Christians rarely stand up about anything, unfortunately.
Might want to read this article too:

God help us all!
This is insanity.
Here in Pittsburgh we have "Sparkle Season"
this article is off an australian website. no wonder they're having problems there. Christmas takes place in the middle of summer in australia. It's not the same when santa is wearing shorts and a T-shirt and the sled gets bogged down in mud.
Some in America don't want anybody to feeeeel badly or be offended that we celebrate a Christian holiday when their religion does not. Of course, that does not extend to Black people who are not liberals or conservative Republicans or Christians, many don't give a rip if they feel badly or are offended...
We've always wandered why Santa is SOOOO heavily dressed.
Christmas without the beach? Can't be done! LOL.

Merry Visa-melting-over-priced-hallmark holiday.
Christmas, has a better ring to it! ;-)
The Catalans in Spain have some of the finest christmas traditions. Here's an article about their 'caganer' tradition.

Isn't it time Christians stood up to defend the celebration of the birth of Our Lord?

I agree with your sentiments but exactly how does anyone not take a 'public holiday'
It's a shame that society feels compelled to punish 90% or more of the people in order to satisfy a few nitwits who probably only complain about Christmas in order to get attention and feel self-important.

The only tradition that the Spaniards have is to bow down in the face of terror !
I spent new years 1990 in the Bahamas. It was realy strange to me, having enjoyed the Christmas season in a colder climate, to see palm trees among sea shell laden Christmas trees and decorations. I guess that seems normal to people on the west coast and Florida.
I'm Jewish, but this anti Christian, anti Christmas stuff is getting to me. It's what one would expect from the Left, though.
Sending out cards with "Merry Christmas" this year, for the first time ever. In protest, or support, or whatever.
