Howdy Fellow Freepers....
This is my first Vanity so hopefully the Mods will be kind... :)
I leave for Basic tommorow so I just wanted to post a thank you thread to all of my friends on FR who have been very supportive and encouraging to me as I prepared for this.

And a thank you to all the Air Force and military Freepers who have given me much useful advice thank you very much.

Precision Measuring Equipment Laboratory Specialist. Everything from physical/dimensional to radiation to DC and microwave.
10-12 hours a day for about 6 years. I should have stayed in and visited 6 more countries. I work like I'm active duty anyway.
My unit (WTS17) from up the road at MCAS Futenma (way back in 77) was banished from Kadina, something about fighting with zoomies the airpolice didn't like, silly zoomies
Sounds like something with a future. I was Inventory Management (Supply). It provided no "leg up" whatsoever, but I enjoyed the 4+ years.
I did that at Paris Island my DI turned me into a bloody puddle....
I got better
LOL! The difference between Marines and Air Force.
I put in 6 years and saw a bunch of stupid little countries called "Europe". The people were just fine, but they vote as mindlessly as liberals. And the women are respectable and intelligent.
I went East twice; never to Europe.
Thank you for your service, Blue.
This is a Prayer Warrior Field Trip thread, and you are on our prayer list now. May God bless you abundantly and guide and guard you in the days to come. Please check out post 13 in our new prayer thread:

Watch out for a six footed red headed female training instructor.
Thank you so much for your service to our country.
May God bless and protect you.
Looks like I'm a few days late on this thread but "Good Luck, my man!" Lackland was a blast and I'm another of those weird ones that enjoyed basic. Shouldn't have to worry about the heat for marching this time of year. Also, don't tell anyone but the food is pretty good in the Air Force. When you get weekend liberty in about a month, check out the San Antonio River Walk...great Mexican restaurants!
I'm a little surprised you don't have a guaranteed AFSC going in. Alot of great jobs and opportunities in the Air Force.
Aim High
One big city in Europe is just like the next. All you need to do is talk differently. And everybody you need to talk to knows English anyway, so you can get lazy; until you escape into the countryside and meet real people.
You lucky SOB.
My opportunity to go was during Vietnam, when all my friends who were over there were telling me "This is the worst mistake I've ever made in my life".
Now here you are, you've got a chance to go spread American justice where and when it really needs to be spread.
I'm jealous. A lot of us are. Take that with you.
I am late posting a reply on this thread but wanted to wish you GOOD LUCK & say THANK YOU for serving :)
Godspeed. Our thoughts and prayers will always be with you and yours.
