Just announced: The USSS demanded that Metal detectors be used for ALL entering dinner tonight, and the Chile President *Didn't want to subject his guests to that* so they scaled back the meeting to those already "swept"
I'm sure others wiil add details
I'm more than a bit concerned that the Chilean security seems to have some sort of systemic difference on the way they approach security, as opposed to the U.S. Do we chalk this up to cultural differences? I don't think so.
Very concerned about the President's visit to Columbia.
Things get a little chilly in Chile.......
I'm sure he knows something doesn't appear kosher with
all the security "coincidences". I think he just
isn't one to stop short of taking care of business, though,
so he isn't likely to cut and run. When you think about
it, he's in danger all the time, even in the U.S., that some
nut will pull something most any time.
He's heading to Columbia next.
That FTAA deal must be pretty important.
We're supposed to trust a Communist 3rd - world fruit growing nation with the security of the POTUS?
LOL
Please be clear you are addressing Lucia Newman (bad), not cyncooper (good).
Thanks.

LOL
Yes, cyncooper GOOD!

i was on a cruise ship that stopped over in columbia. i hate that country. if they try to pull the same stunt chile did with our president, i say adios amigos... and vamoose on out of there.
i voucher to say there is little to no local security in that country.

Actually, that appears to me to be a square, metallic "kendo"
Instead of growing a 'worldly' isolationist policy emphasizing Homeland Security, we're diving into hemispherical agreements like the FTAA.
They should just make something up (LIE!) to get him out of there... (o:
This is just plain stupid! I'm a Libertarian and I didn't vote for Bush - but he's still my President...
What's he doing going to Columbia, still after all of this? I don't think it's a very smart idea. I think Mr. Bush should take off for Thanksgiving a little early. Just tell him something's up at the Ranch that needs his attention...
W would also look good riding around in Lucille with me...
But, Bush is the man! I always remember him best at the World Trade Center after it became "ground zero" and he shouted into that megaphone to the crowd. Grassontop
I agree. One of my thoughts when I heard the bodyguard story is what if it had been planned that way. Something to think about.
Those bullet proof ponchos in your post saved all the world leaders.
OPERATION PLYMOUTH ROCK IN PLACE OF THANKSGIVING. The bad guys were probably thinking our great military would be eating turkey this week but our guys are in the triangle.
