He should, but I predict he won't.
I don't think anyone who was convicted of a crime without the kind of physical evidence in this case should get the death penalty. Putting this guy away for life is good enough for me.
do i care? no
I believe he will not. However, I believe it would be to Peterson's advantage to get the death penalty as it will increase his chances on appeal and he would probably never be executed anyway (I think there are more than 400 death row inmates in California). An appellate court is much less likely to find "harmless error" where the DP is involved.
He should get life.
That way the state will save millions on his appeals.
It's the NBA thing now.
Nope. No blood, no smoking gun, method/location of murder unknown.
I have no feel. Obviously, few people have ever been convicted on so little evidence--never by an impartial jury--and, even then, they had to dismiss dissenters and put two headhunters in as substitutes.
I hope so.
Who cares?
I'm thinking that if the concerted effort Peterson made to pull this murder off is highlighted in the penalty phase, the plotting, planning, concealment and absolute devious nature of his crimes, he will. The death penalty is made so society doesn't have to waste the tax $$$'s to support a monster like this @ $200,000 per year for, conceivably, the next 50 years.
He should, he'll get the sentence, but whether it's actually imposed out there is anyone's guess.
He should be made to watch the news reports about his trial every day for 24/7 until he goes completely mad and starts drooling like a rabid dog.
Then execute him.
Hey, if we had to endure this nonsense for 6 months, the least he can do is watch it until he goes bonkers
You're asking the wrong group of Americans.
Ask the "Main Stream Media" they know all about these kinds of things.
Hell they create them, manipulate them, nurture them,
and arrainge the outcome.
Go ask Them. Because,Frankly My Dear.......
In California, it doesn't really matter. Even if he gets the death penalty, it will take two lifetimes to ever carry it out.
Since his conviction is only beyond a reasonable doubt he should get life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Only had there been no doubt that he did it, proven by hard evidence, should he get the death penalty.
It is too bad, because the person who did it really deserves to die.
Whether he does or not, the liklihood of him being lethally injected is between slim and none. California has many people on death row, and zero executions.
The will of the people be damned, rogue politicians do whatever the hell they please.
Should he get the death penalty? Absolutely! He should have gotten two counts of premeditated murder, not just one. At least he did get one.
Garagos, what the hell do you provide for all that money?
I think he will get life, and he will have to really suffer for what he did.
