I love how he thanked all the people for their prayers for his cancer stricken wife.

A know-nothing, do-nothing nobody returns to obscurity. No one will notice.

I'd bet there were few, if any, senators there to hear Johnny's farewell speech. A giant "who cares, don't let the door hit ya on the way out" sendoff for the Silky Pony.

It was a phrase used in the British press - John Edwards is the man with a brilliant future behind him. ;)

By the way, I'm pleased John Edwards will be nothing more than a Trivial Pursuit question in the 2030 edition.

Regards, Ivan

Slick talking that describes him perfectly. When I first saw him and paid attention to him, I thought he is a nice looking man, then when he opened his mouth, it was nauseating

Did he take out a pink hanky to dry his tears with?

"Said Edwards: "This fight goes on."..."

And it did......in Detroit last night as the Pistons took on the Indiana Pacers.
Looked like a typical RAT party to me ---"I'll fight for you"!

"...This fight goes on."

But of course! A good leftist just doesn't realize when he's been soundly beaten! They are THAT smart! We won't soon forget him but he won't think about this if he runs again. We beat him badly here in NC!

This turd will turn into another Algore, and in couple of years he'll lean his overweight, hulking mass across a podium and vomit his leftist agenda into a frenzied audience. He's going to be like a canker sore that we can't get rid of...like a bad rash....like a boil in a BAD place!...bad breath....a dirty diaper that just WON'T clean up.

I do wonder though...with his reputation, I can't help but think that this is going to affect the care that his wife gets. Even if they don't realize it, I think this is happening. I'll bet "smart boy" never thought of this back when he was playing his courtroom theatrics against the pharmaceutical industry.

I wonder what it feels like to wrongly gain so much cash against an industry, only to (potentially) have to turn around and spend it on a sick loved one? I take no joy in thinking about this, but I wonder if he thinks about it this way?

Probably NOT.

John Edwards was the worse vice-presidential candidate since poor Admiral Stockdale(who was at least a fine Naval officer). Edwards lost his home state, his home county, his home town and his home precinct. 0 for 4! How much more pathetic can you get than to be utterly rejected by those who know you best.

Edwards' wife was grilled by Katie Couric about why she didn't get a mamogram earlier. No had no good answer.

I was listening to an FM talk radio station (I think it was 101.1 out of Greensboro NC) on the way to work yesterday, and the guys were talking about just how inconsequential Edwards was. The whole reason he was brought in was because of his dymanic personality and speaking abilities (contrasted against those of John "Lurch" Kerry), and in the end, it amounted to ZERO!...NOTHING!....NADA!

He didn't have anything to offer other than good looks and hair....which don't account for much when considering leadership abilities of men.

I HOPE he'll just go away, but I think he'll keep rearing his head. We'll see. :-)

Right after Kerry 'asked' Edwards to be his VP, Edwards started those 'front porch' tours. His 2nd one (IIRC) was in Florida. He was at a home, with a porch, all day. Per witnesses, a grand total of 8 people showed up that day to meet the VP-potential.
