You'll like this story I just emailed. It is a true story, the friend was ours.

A friend of ours used to have a dog that wandered. He'd take off for days and he always came back. As he got older, his wanders became shorter and shorter because he wasn't as limber as he used to be.

One day, a car pulled up with Blacky in it. Blacky was gone for 24 hours when, around 4 PM, a car pulled up and dropped him off. The driver said he was lying for hours on the corner on the sidwalk near his home. Blackie seemed perfectly fine.

Then it happened again. This time he'd been hanging out at a barbecue down in the village.

It began happen regularly. Blacky was really quick to learn.

He had figured out how to hitch a ride. When he wanted to get home all he had to do was get someone to read his tags. He'd nap all day on someone's lawn or limp along the side of the road until someone stopped. When they read the tag on his collar it was his ticket home.

That's a fence with heart-shape holes in it and the dog is sticking his face through one of the holes.
