Who would make a better President?

Posted on 11/19/2004 10:24:30 AM PST by robertnj

If the 2008 Republican primary included candidates Rudy Giuliani, Condi Rice, Tom DeLay, Zell Miller, and Arlene Spector; who would you choose and why?

That might work, too.

Owens is charismatic, smart, and fiscally and socially conservative. However, he's got marital issues (not as bad as Rudys though) that would make him a tough sell with Christian conservatives.

I'll wait to see which one the Liberals and Michael Moore hate the most and throw my support behind that candidate. Michael is really a GOP operative shhhhh! LOL

You mark my words: conservatvies aren't going to support a man who stabbed George Bush in the back during the 2004 election.

Amen to that.

This reminds me of the threads on DU. I'm guessing 50% of their threads ask who the dems should run in 2008; the other 50% of their threads say Kerry really won the election. The only thing I can figure is they think Kerry won, but shouldn't run in 2008.

I think Giuliani is the only realistic candidate on that list. All the others are lacking in something - charisma, mainstream appeal, etc..

The red with yellow looks good. More contrast than you'd expect.

I am a white male conservative! If Condi can clarify her position on abortion I would vote for her! What the heck, the supreme court may yet get a chance to toss Roe v. Wade.................I'd vote for her anyway! She is best possible to beat Broom Hillary in 2008. It's time for a woman and a black in the White House. She's smart, articulate, sophisticated and wholesome!A class act! Pretty rare these days in Washington.

jeb/condi, I like it. Some combination of jeb/condi/guiliani would be great, although after 2006 guiliani may be busy as a senator

Hate to rain on your parade, but one of those listed is a life-long DIMocrat, while Rudy would not doubt be far more comfortable in the Dimocratic Party.

How about giving a REAL selection, one that would include, say, Jeb Bush, the Governor of Colorado (whose name at the moment escapes me), and Dr. Frist?

Or even Spencer Abraham? Can you imagine the discomfiture of Jews forced to either (a) vote against a Jew; or (b) vote Republican?

Right on, I'm with you there!

Tancredo, but I know the weakling Republicans in Congress will vote for a RINO like Rudy, McCain or maybe Ahnold if they can rip the Constitution apart more.

I think Condi is very much my second pick, perhaps even my first. I just want a leader with strong conservative values and a freaking backbone to stand up for what he/she believes. The only other requirement is that they defend out troops tooth and nail. What is this crap of probing every little thing our troops are doing, and then giving them prison sentences? What in the hell makes you think our troops will want to fight for this country when we aren't standing by them. This is a war, not touchy feely school programs.

From this group, Condi Rice
Rudy Giuliani; Too liberal for me
Condi Rice; Smartest one of this bunch and foreign policy expert
Tom DeLay; Too much baggage
Zell Miller; Never ever ever vote for a Democrat
Arlene Spector; snicker, snicker snicker.

I have a list; and I'm not going to forget; and if I do, you remind me.

Those who cozied up to Kerry are NOT going to get my vote, nor one cent of my money; even if they get the nomination.
