The only democrat I ever voted for was a conservative running against Sen. Charles "Mac" Mathias of Maryland.
Naturally the democrats supported the RINO republican candidate, and Mathias won by a landslide.
I would vote for Zell Miller over a liberal or a moderate republican any day.
