Clinton’s library: As classy as the President himself
Union Leader ^ | 11/19/04

THE CLINTON Presidential library opened in Little Rock, Ark., yesterday.

The library is said to contain two million photographs and 80 million pages of documents.

The building is divided into 14 alcoves. One is devoted to the Monica Lewinsky scandal. And here is where the library turns out just as one would expect. A placard in that section reads: “The impeachment battle was not about the Constitution or the rule of law, but was instead a quest for power that the president’s opponents could not win at the ballot box.” Other placards further attack Republicans.

Anyone who has been to the Smithsonian Institution has seen politicized museum exhibits. The staff at the National Museum of American History and the National Museum of Natural History are particularly adept at injecting their own biases into the official texts presented to visitors. But this blunt misrepresentation of history is more outrageous than usual. The Clinton library is, after all, an institution that will be run by the National Archives and Records Administration.

We don’t expect the Clinton library to put an anti-Clinton spin on the President’s shameful behavior. But using the exhibit to attack at the President’s opponents is really classless.

But then, it is the Clinton library.

So it's in a broken down double-wide just north of shanty town?

I think W needs to make an impression on those institutions.

Just south.

I enjoy the symbolism. Two homages...One to a bridge to nowhere and the other to Ted Kennedy.

Where did they move all the bums to before the grand opening? I heard there were several groups of winos living right in the area of the library.

One more attempt by those two to drag things down to their level.

Unfortunately for them, dignity has already been restored to the White House and the office of the President.

People recognize that and registered their opinions about it a couple of weeks ago.

Is there one for Juanita Broaderick?

The Clinton Library, like so many other Clinton associates, could suck a tennis ball through a garden hose.

Since the corrupt Clintons took over the Democratic Party and stained it beyond recognition, Republicans have had enormous success at the ballot box. The mid-term revolution in 1994 ushered in a Republican House that continues today. The 2000 election saw Republicans take control of the White House, Senate and House. The 2002 mid-term election saw Republicans take back the Senate, making Jeffords look like an absolute fool if he already didn't look like one. And, of course, the recent 2004 election saw Bush win big and the GOP bolster its advantage in the Senate and House.

All in all, pretty good results at the ballot box for Republicans. Thanks, Bubba. The GOP couldn't have done it without you and your part-time wife.

A national library dedicated to a rapist, and declared a man of strength and character by the incumbent president. It was indeed a classless opening under a dark and storm drenched afternoon. Thank you Jesus.

Heard it actually looks like manufactured trailers, like the design was on purpose. How many alcoves at the Mustang Ranch? Anybody got a picture?

It is obvious that this library is not really serious. To say his impeachment wasn't about the constitution but a power grab the republicans couldn't get at the ballot box proves that. Can you imagine years and years from now people who didn't know him at all visiting this sham? What will they think?
