Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 10:30 p.m. EST Bill 'Captain Queeg' Clinton Threatens Peter Jennings
A paranoid-sounding Bill Clinton threatened ABC News anchorman Peter Jennings in an interview broadcast Thursday night, in a bizarre rant about his impeachment that laid bare the ex-president's persecution complex.
"You don't want to go here, Peter," Clinton warned, after Jennings told him that historians ranked him second to last of all presidents in terms of moral authority.
Squinting his eyes, an angry Clinton seethed, "You don't want to go here. Not after what you people did. And the way you - your network - what you did with Kenneth Starr. The way your people repeated every little sleazy thing he did. No one has any idea of what that's like." The amazing exchange came after Clinton at first claimed he didn't care about the verdict of historians.
"I had more support from the world when I quit than when I started," he claimed. "And I will go to my grave being at peace about it. And I don't really care about what [the historians] think."
Immediately, Jennings challenged Clinton, all but calling him a liar.
"Oh, yes you do . . . Excuse me, Mr. President. I can feel it across the room. You care very deeply."
Jennings' challenge sent Clinton into a thinly veiled rage, prompting him to threaten, "You don't want to go here, Peter."
The full exchange went like this:
JENNINGS (Discussing rankings by presidential historians]: They gave you a forty-first in terms of moral authority - after Nixon.
CLINTON: They're wrong about that. You know why they're wrong about it? They're wrong about it.
JENNINGS: Why, sir?
CLINTON: Because we had $100 million spent against us in all these inspections . . . In spite of it all, you don't have any example where I ever lied to the American people about my job, where I have let the American people down. And I had more support from the world when I quit than when I started. And I will go to my grave being at peace about it. And I don't really care about what they think.
JENNINGS: Oh, yes you do.
CLINTON: They have no idea . . .
JENNINGS: Excuse me, Mr. President. I can feel it across the room. You care very deeply.
CLINTON: No, no. I care. In care. You don't want to go here, Peter. You don't want to go here. Not after what your people did. And the way you - your network - what you did with Kenneth Starr. The way your people repeated every little sleazy thing he did. No one has any idea of what that's like.
Naughty, naughty, but how delightful! To think Hill and all those Klintoon hangerons ended up at The Peabody where he boinked or raped God only knows how many women.
Great comments bump!
It's only gonna get worse as more and more info comes out about what went on and why during Toon's years in office.
From the snippet I caught on tv, Hill is definitely blossoming. She's the eight hundred pound gorilla in that relationship. Bill is a shadow of himself. Weird to see.
LOL!! Bump for post # 39!!!
You the left has a propensity for turning on their own...we all will live to see the day when the final failure of the American progressive cause will be laid at BJ's feet-by the left.
So, who was listed last behind Clinton?
Sounds like Bubba had one too many beers before that interview.
I would take that bet. The devil is done with bill. He will probaly become a stark raving madman.
Nixon
I have never heard that term. What does it mean and why is it used to describe slick?
Duh. I guess when Jennings said '41st--after Nixon', I interpreted it wrong. Need more coffee.
=0)
The all peeeeing in the same pot - socialism. And as card carrying socialists, they don't' leave the house in the morning without their talking points of the day. and they dare not stray from the party line.
Now Bubba and Hilderbeast know that without RED America, she can never win. So they are positioning themselves as "conservative" god-fearing..she announced she was an evangelical "a conservative, really" (scuse me a moment, gotta puke ) -
there, that's better - and then yesterday, he announces he's a "little bit red and a little bit blue.."
Well the Blues aren't ready to go that far yet and it incensed them. He's not sticking with the pack. So they will turn on him...and her.
Anyone take note of the shouting match with Hannity/Coulter/Beckell that the one thing he kept saying over and over to Ann was "I'll pray for you tonight."?
This, you watch, will be a new mantra spewing forth from the Blues - to their peril.
Palossi even bible thumped the other day!
They do not understand what power they are playing with. God is not mocked. They are playing with dynamite...
Oh that is good.
Does the Little Rock Peabody Hotel have ducks, like the one in Memphis?
From discussion on Fox about this, it appears that Nixon was considered worse than Clinton. I think that is unfair to Nixon and may reflect liberal bias on the part of the people who were asked to make the rankings. Nixon had some ethical problems (questionable tax write-offs, involvement in the Watergate cover-up) but Clinton's corruption was far more pervasive. Nixon was a boy scout by comparison.
Notice the Clinton tactic. When confronted with a simple fact - the ratings by historians, or the obvious observation that he cares, despite his protestations to the contrary - his first inclination is to attack what ABC News did in reporting on Ken Starr. Of course, the attack is accompanied by a lot of meaningless rhetoric, now reproduced on the walls of the library, bemoaning the politics of personal destruction.
I happened to see this.
I was shocked.
Never thought Peter had it in him to challenge Clinton.
